Been to this place a couple of times before, but I stopped by last week on a bar crawl. Been rebranded a couple of times of the last few years - they seem to have got it right this time. Lovely little place with regular live music and nice little pub garden. Prices seem reasonable and quality of the drinks... More

The North Star has wonderful and extremely friendly bar staff it is a local pub but has a very welcoming atmosphere. They play bands most weekends that canter for all ages. And usually put on a DJ at the end of each month. The drinks are reasonable priced and all in all I enjoyed myself.

This is a pub that changes hands frequently, owned by Enterprise Ind, that puts managers in as no-one will take the lease. I visited last week to give it a try, as I do periodically, as although it has an awful reputation locally, its best to see if anything has changed. I met friends in there from the train and... Went for drink with friends, I paid with my card to the dozy bar staff as there was no paper in the PDQ machine no receipt was printed. They told me that the payment would not go through as receipt could not be printed made me do it again and two days later find out they charged me twice. Avoid... More

I totally agree in saying that it is just a pub with rooms. It is run like a shambles and the management proved to be very unhelpful with the clients being just interested in making money without offering a proper service. Given the bad hygienic conditions, it is not even advisable to have a meal in the pub downstairs. I... More

Had a great stay. We booked in for the Olympics as we were watching a lot of the rowing but some other events also. We were treated brilliantly nothing was to much trouble. The staff were excellent and the owner couldnt have been more accomodating had he tried. The B & B is above a nice little pub with a... More
