The staff at Cutty Sark are friendly and obliging, but the hotel is run down. The room was of an average standard and clean. There were basic toiletries provided. The children's annex of the family room did not have a fan or air conditioner, and we had to move a matress into the main bedroom as it was too hot... More

We had a great meal (my fish and chips was yummy and everyone enjoyed their meals) and great service in a Lovely setting overlooking the lake with a swimming pool in front! Highly recommended. No booking required.

I have not spent a night at the hotel but frequently visited the restaurant and bar facilities. The beautiful scenic view of the dam and natural wildlife habitat makes the place very unique. The food is 7/10 in my view and the staff is also very helpful. There is a nice swimming pool to cool down the kariba heat.

Frankly the best thing that could happen to this hotel is for it to burn down. The accomodation is truly appauling. Rarely have I felt physically ill having been shown a dirty room I am expected to sleep in

The hotel is nestled on the banks of Lake Kariba and is very easily accessible from the main road. Being quite hot and humid it helps that there is a pool to cool down. The rooms are air conditioned and are just a few meters from the river frontage. If you manage to wake up very early in the morning... More

Nice clean rooms and the service was perfect. We were meant to stay for 3 nights but ended up staying a further 2 nights in January. I found the staff very attentive and could not do enough for us. As a family of 5 we were offered baby sitting service so that we could have evenings in the restaurant knowing... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. Loved the hotel and the grounds and the staff were so kind and helpful. Having sundowners overlooking the lake is magic. BUT the hotel is way overpriced for what you get. The standard of the rooms was ok - comfortable and clean but nothing more. Sorry that travellers are no going anymore to Zimbabwe... More

We stayed in this hotel just for one evening and night on our way to the canoe safari. It was a very unpleasant experience with unclean and shabby rooms, uncomfortable beds and pillows ( to the extent that we felt much more comfortable in the tents that we stayed in for the coming nights) and atrociously poor quality food (... The Cutty Sark is a throwback to the old Rhodesian era, with wonderful grounds, comfortable, sensibly priced rooms overlooking Lake Kariba, and a staff as attentive and kind as any I've ever come across. My only regret is that we were only passing through. The Cutty Sark is worthy of an extended stay....

We stayed at the Cutty Sark for a weekend on a short break, and I was very happy we had chosen it. All of the rooms have views of the Lake and the rooms were very clean. The staff were so welcoming and helpful, they helped us organise game drives etc. The bar was reasonably priced, the food was good.
