Bumi Hills is a truly special place. Catherine, Mike and their wonderful staff make you feel so welcome and work tirelessly to make your stay a memorable one. The setting at the top of the escarpment overlooking the lake is truly spectacular and provides a unique opportunity to watch an abundance of game in their natural environment. Just sitting at... Staying at Bumi Hills is like going back in time to a gentler more elegant time of travel (with the added attraction of Wi-fi). I arrived as a stranger, but left as a friend with memories of the huge smiles and welcome of everyone from the Cath and Mike the managers to the cleaners and gardeners. We were pampered, and... Really super spot a little out from the town - Fly in or transfer by boat. The hotel is on a hill overlooking the lake. Remarkable views and very peaceful and quite. Hotel is well maintained and runs very smoothly with friendly staff and management. Game drives are fun and lots to see loads of elephants, Buffalo etc and a... More

We had spent 10 days in Botswana and Hwange at more "rugged" camps prior to coming Bumi Hills. Mike and Catherine were great hosts, the staff was friendly and very attentive, our guide, Student, was knowledgeable and friendly, and (maybe best of all) the water was hot, the beds were soft and the massages were wonderful!! Thank you so much... More

Spent 3 days celebrating a 70th birthday. The lodge stands on a hill with fabulous views of the lake. We spent the days on a houseboat on the lake with various fishing or game viewing outings on smaller boats. The service was faultless in all respect. June is a great month to visit as the days are hot, the evenings... More

Thank you for your kind review - you are absolutely right, June is a wonderful month to visit Bumi - the sunsets are unparalleled, and the bush is just thinning out enough after the rains to offer good game viewing from the shore, as you all experienced. It was great fun hosting your delightful group - we are thrilled that... More

My husband and I visited the lodge to celebrate our belated 50th wedding anniversary, was by now the 52nd and what an incredible experience. Mike and Catherine and all the staff just blew us away. Even had a beautiful choc cake backed for us. We went mid May, perfect temperatures and even good fishing. It was amazing and please get... More

Despite fickle weather, our stay at Bumi Hills was hugely enjoyable. In between thunder showers, our fantastic guide Student took us out for safari drives with some really good animal viewing, including elephants and hippos on the shore of the lake. Mike and Catherine were friendly, helpful hosts, as were the rest of the staff. From our balcony we could... More

Thank you for your very kind review - the green season is always a fabulous time to visit Bumi - the babies! the birds!! the light!!! ( in between refreshing thunder storms!) You have summed up Bumi very neatly - this area is completely unspoiled - in part because of our remote location, in part the various custodians of the... More

Four relaxing days in a beautiful setting, surrounded by nature and stillness. Our room had a great view of the lake, and each lunch time the elephants came down to drink and swim. There was plenty of good food, great service and friendly staff. We were on the lake every day catching fish, enjoying a few beers and soaking up... More

It was good to welcome you both back to the incomparable Kariba and her sunsets! Thank you so much for such a kind review - the cooler months are such a good time to visit Bumi - the fishing is still good, as you found out, the beer is even colder, and there are very few pesky mosquitoes! The hiccup... More

This is a humbling review, from extremely receptive and involved guests.Thank you so much.
