We returned to Bumi after three years, only to be greeted by the same friendly staff who were genuinely pleased to see us again. Their service throughout our 4-day stay was faultless. Our rooms were superb as were the grounds and other hotel facilities, not to mention the outstanding chef who kept us well fed morning, noon and night. The... More

We just loved this lodge, right from our arrival. It's so welcoming, grand yet homely. Very spacious in every department, from lobby, dining room, pool area, fantastic 'English' gardens and great bedrooms. We had a Lake view room and I would recommend this, it's well elevated above the lake, looking across the lake and down on the animals and waterhole.... More

We enjoyed spectacular views of the lake and animals from one of the premium rooms. The friendly staff were always ready and willing to assist beyond call of duty. We were impressed by the level of cleanliness in the rooms. Very neat. Exciting game drives and cruises. The atmosphere is perfect for relaxation. At a loss for words to describe... More

Bumi Hills was so good, we stayed for 30 days! And then we stayed another 30 days the next year! That was last year, and this year, we hope and pray we will get to Bumi again. It's not just the welcome, or the scenery, or the incredible food, or the lions, or the elephants, or the monkeys, or the... More

I was at Bumi Hills about 20 years ago on an educational organised by Air Zimbabwe we had 2 fantastic nights there, our rooms overlooked where the elephants grazed, the food was amazing, the safari was great, in fact I still rave about it now, it is the one place I would love to bring my husband, and now we... Bumi Hills is a perfect place for relaxing and game-viewing at Lake Kariba. The rooms are spacious and have a great view over the lake. Perfect service, friendly staff and geat food make Bumi Hills to the best place to stay at Lake Kariba.

Thank you for taking the time to post this review - we are thrilled that you enjoyed Bumi so much, and experienced wonderful game sightings, including our pride of lion! This time of year , our rainy season, offers so much despite the occasional unscheduled thunder storm! The brilliance of the colours, the plethora of baby impala make it a... More

Although you did choose a slightly unconventional method of arriving at Bumi, we were very pleased to welcome and refresh you both after such a tiresome journey! We hope that next time you experience the pleasure of cruising across the lake from Kariba to begin your holiday, and that you can stay a bit longer! Best regards Catherine More

This was my second visit to Bumi Hills after a gap of a few years. It really is a wonderful place to stay and is situated in a amazing location overlooking the magnificent expanses of Lake Kariba. I have been to Zimbabwe 5 times over a 20 year period, I've pretty much been to every major hotel, and tourist attraction in the country, including staying at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Elephant Hills to name a few. On my latest visit in November 2014 to celebrate my 40th birthday we spent five nights on a luxurious house... More

Thank you so much for your wonderful review - we really enjoyed having your party for the day and wish that you could have stayed a bit longer! We have to agree with you that Bumi should be on everyone's "bucket list" - its hard to convey the magic and peace of the area without launching into "purple prose", but... More

We had three days at Bumi Hills. Got there by light plane from Vic Falls. A sincere welcome from the management and staff at the Lodge. Room came with outstanding hilltop view over Lake Kariba with game nearly always in view. Delightful infinity pool area next to the bar and restaurant. Early morning and late afternoon game drives conducted by... More

Thank you both for your kind comments about our beautiful lodge. I particularly loved the written image of the elephant dusting off his lunch right next to the vehicle - that crunching is certainly memorable! I am glad that you were able to take some time out from your very busy athletic schedule to unwind at Bumi - and very... More
