I was holidaying on a houseboat on Kariba with some mates and we put a special request in to Bumi which they came through on with flying colors. Specifically, we're preparing for an ultra marathon and needed to get some mileage in. We asked if we could run through their reserve, accompanied by a ranger. They agreed and we set... More

Thank you for your kind comments, we were very happy to accommodate you both on your safari/marathon training session! I am pretty certain that very few, if any , of your fellow competitors would have trained alongside lion, buffalo and elephant! Our very best wishes for the actual event, and we really hope that one day you will return for... More

Thanks very much to the wonderful hospitality shown by Mike and Catherine at Bumi Hills on my recent trip to Kariba. The views and magnificent, the facilities available first class and the hospitality warm and accomodating. Thanks for taking the time to ensure our 20km comrades training run in the bush was a success.

We returned to Bumi after three years, only to be greeted by the same friendly staff who were genuinely pleased to see us again. Their service throughout our 4-day stay was faultless. Our rooms were superb as were the grounds and other hotel facilities, not to mention the outstanding chef who kept us well fed morning, noon and night. The... More

Once you have visited Bumi, she remains in your heart and, conversely, you remain in hers, hence the enthusiastic welcome when you returned, and it will be the same on your next visit ! Thank you for your kind review - we have today posted some photos of Terry, the little elephant who was born whilst you were here, on... More

We just loved this lodge, right from our arrival. It's so welcoming, grand yet homely. Very spacious in every department, from lobby, dining room, pool area, fantastic 'English' gardens and great bedrooms. We had a Lake view room and I would recommend this, it's well elevated above the lake, looking across the lake and down on the animals and waterhole.... More

We enjoyed spectacular views of the lake and animals from one of the premium rooms. The friendly staff were always ready and willing to assist beyond call of duty. We were impressed by the level of cleanliness in the rooms. Very neat. Exciting game drives and cruises. The atmosphere is perfect for relaxation. At a loss for words to describe... More

Bumi Hills was so good, we stayed for 30 days! And then we stayed another 30 days the next year! That was last year, and this year, we hope and pray we will get to Bumi again. It's not just the welcome, or the scenery, or the incredible food, or the lions, or the elephants, or the monkeys, or the... More

Although you did choose a slightly unconventional method of arriving at Bumi, we were very pleased to welcome and refresh you both after such a tiresome journey! We hope that next time you experience the pleasure of cruising across the lake from Kariba to begin your holiday, and that you can stay a bit longer! Best regards Catherine More
