Firstly, lets make it clear-Kariba is HOT! Travelling north to Kariba from Harare via Chinoyi, it was noticeable how the temperature ramped up as we progressed. I would say its a good 10 degrees hotter at our destination than our starting point in the capital. Its an attractive drive too, although the roads are somewhat twisty as you approach Kariba... More

Originally from Zimbabwe but coming back to this place with my Malawi friends was definitely worth it! Had a blast!!! Rooms were perfect, service brilliant and the views amazing. Definitely value for money. Leaving for fishing from the bay, the wildlife around although we were assured that there's a high voltage electricity fence around. but that wouldn't keep hippos from... If you want to experience Zimbabwe, please visit this resort and you wont be disappointed, with lots of skepticism regarding Zimbabwe one would turn to wonder if the Hospitality is still the same but my visit to this town changed all the negativity into positive, woow the service the food, though it is a bit costly am sure due to... I must say I'll be the first to admit I was a bit sceptical of what this resort would have to offer, however after 3 nights and 2 days I am of a different opinion. To their credit the staff were very friendly and always helpful. Housekeeping was on point, fresh linen and towels everyday. The breakfast buffet was a... More

This place is overrated. No comfort at all. No decor to talk about. For the price I would have expected something nice but I was not impressed at all. The rooms we got were too far from reception and dining facilities. The receptionist was very slow at check in. The food was Okish. The view from the breakfast area was... More

Thoroughly enjoyed a professional conference there. The environment is lovely, it was the thick of winter and yet it was quite warm. The views were also excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and eager to help, even when they are off shift. However, the hotel itself could use a facelift. The rustic look is all well and good, provided it... More

We thankfully only stayed 1 night. Than you can laugh about the derelict design concept, the 6 pool chairs that survived the sinking of the titanic and the cushions that have been recovered after the baboons disposed of them. I actually went to ask the manager for another price list at dinner. The food is not very good as we... More

Its a pricy palace which mearnt for middle class travellers or business travellers. There is need for painting the buildings. theres also need for increasing room lighting. the food is excellect and so is the view of the lake at night.

I am currently staying at this Hotel. I have checked three rooms - all three were poorly maintained and have large amounts of mould growing on the walls. The hotel is extremely over-priced and expensive. $US130 per night for a single room (mould provided free). Service is friendly however quality of service is poor. Waiters are poorly trained! Food is... More

I was slightly disappointed on arriving at this hotel despite the beautiful location it looked a little like Fred Flintstone's house (painted a sickly pink colour) and the girl who showed us to our room was less than helpful. However, on closer inspection the hotel grew on me. The room was clean, the airconditioner was wonderful and fully operational and... More
