Just finished a stay here and LOVED it. The place is amazing and the tents are pure luxury in the bush. Ask for tent number 6, it is located closest to the watering hole and has the best views. The staff was amazing, especially our guide Charles. The food was wonderful and the animal sightings were a plenty. You can't... More

Dear Jennifer335, Thank you for your magnificent review, we are so glad to see that you enjoyed your time with us so much. Hwange’s elephant presence has magnified too as the dry season digs its claws into our parched soils, enticing more and more of these noble and terrestrial wonders to our water’s edge. Their intelligence can only inspire us... More

We were here in late July and had our wedding at this camp. AMAZING! I thought we us with all the staff from the camp, an arch and tables with linens and champagne and an amazing dance troop from a local area. WOW! In the background we had hippo and giraffe as our drop in guests. It was an amazing... More

Dear Kathrin C, Thank you for fabulous review, we are so glad to read how much you enjoyed your time with us and we cannot wait to share this with all the staff in camp. The staff were fortunate to witness a martial eagle going in for a kill. Late one afternoon they heard guineafowl making a lot of noise.... More

Went in late July, and 2nd Wilderness camp. Exceeded expectations for sure. Drives with Thembu were excellent, and Bea definitely ran a tight and fun camp. Saw all animals, including lions feasting on elephant and buffalo. Accommodations very nice, all u needed, along with the 'Loo with a view'. Food excellent, along with service, announcing dinner in English and local... More

Dear Mongers, Thank you for your passionate review, we are so glad to see that you had such a great time at our camp. Intimate and exclusive, Little Makalolo is situated in the remote south-east of Hwange, looking out at a waterhole to which animals are drawn in their numbers in the dry season. A false mopane tree in the... More

This is an excellent safari camp. Small and not over crowded. The installations are discrete so as to mix with nature. The lodge itself is really comfortable and the big tents have everything you would need on such a vacation. We spent 4 nights there and were greeted by very friendly staff from the cooks to the guides to the... More

From the moment we arrived; until our departure we were treated royally. The staff were friendly, courteous, energetic and responsive. Great food. Outstanding guides. Great game viewing throughout the concession, including 50 to 100 yards in front of tents due to the watering hole. By the way, "tent" is an understatement for those never on safari. They have all the... More

I can honestly say that this was our best holiday ever! Staff were fantastic, the camp was great and the guides & game superb. The food (catering for children 12 & 14 and vegetarian) was excellent. I did have reservations about 'camping' in the bush, but would recommend this to anyone. JUST BRILLIANT!!!

The five of us spent 3 night at Little Mak, we had an absolutely amazing time. The staff were faultless, the game drives were brilliant (despite the wet weather), the food was delicious and lots of it!!! And the tents were incredibly comfy. We loved Little Makalolo. Beautiful tents, I think they are brand new, huge bathroom inside the tent, outdoor shower, plus indoor shower, was wonderful having screens all around, they would roll down the walls at night for privacy, but the tents are placed far apart. Dear Travelinggirly, Thank you for your wonderful review. Little Makalolo is a very special camp in a very special area. Hwange National Park has some of the highest mammal diversity for any national park in the world and is known in particular for its great herds of Cape buffalo and elephant (nearly 30 000). With over 100 species the variety... More
