We knew that Main Camp was simple, but ok. Not much of a change since 1997 when we visited Hwange for the first time . Only less people - but same number of elephants.:) We liked Sinamatella more, but it is simply different.

Clean and cheap are the positives. It goes downhill from there. Maintenance man left in 1960 and has not been replaced. Everything is stuffed. Pity, this place has huge potential. We were actually able to have some washing done though. Game was exceptional!!!

This place is in a great location but like all the National Parks places we stayed in Zimbabwe it is in ned of some serious updating. The camp is right next to the entrance to the park and the setting is beautiful. There is also a reasonable restaurant on site. I would stay here again as it is very reasonably... More

We stayed in the self-catering units for one night en route to Kennedy camp 1, early July 2014. The units we stayed in were 16, 17, 18 & 21 (apparently #19 is broken?!). The euphemism "out-dated" seems to be the the only alternative to dilapidated. Positive, there was a constant supply of electricity (at least that I am aware of).... More

The lodges at main camp are not luxury or really even good by western standards, but I found them to be very good for my expectations and the location. The lodge was clean enough. The bath had to be cleaned before use and there were a number of spider webs in the very large shower room, but that did not... More

I stayed in one of the lodges which is definitely the best accommodation type available for space and convenience. These have their own cooking and ablutions facilities. The furniture is not pretty or copious, but its still comfortable enough. The best things are the affordable price and the setting. The camp is the perfect gateway to some of the best... More

Stayed in one of the self contained lodges , the rooms where clean , though a bit stuffy maybe becausse it was rainy season , the grounds needed a bit of attention as the grass was too long and considering you are in a game park you really need to be cautious of your surroundings . Hot water was available... More

Arrived here when visiting the Hwange national park, initially we were shown to our accomodation which was a chalet, what a dump ! The dilapidated toilet / ablutions block was a walk away which could be a problem during the night because of the wildlife. We returned to reception and asked to upgrade and for an extra US$15 moved to... More

We stayed a few nights and found the accommodation to be of a good size with all that you needed, comfortable beds although a bit dated the only thing we missed was no shower or even attachment to wash your hair so having a bath every night meant we really missed our shower and the water was salty so by...
