We arrived to find 40 elephant arriving at the waterhole in front of the lodge & staff waiting to greet us. It set the tone for our four night stay. The game viewing was absolutely top notch as our guide Lazarus showed us lion eating their kill (an elephant), elephants, cheetah, giraffe, hippo, croc, buffalo, baboon,Impala, steenbok, warthog & so much... I have been in the tourism industry for 28 years and really have NEVER experienced such good overall service at a lodge - it was as if the staff here can not do enough to make you feel welcome and help where-ever, how-ever. The smiles and attitudes are real. Amazing. I have stayed here before a few times, but the... More

We were greeted with the sight of a herd of elephants grazing by the water hole and a young bull elephant terrorizing a couple of guests in the viewing platform. The rooms off the main atrium were large and spacious with great viewing balconies. The Dining room was occupied by a debating competition so dining was al fresco - standard... More

The air conditioning and fans only work in some rooms. Make sure yours works when you check in. Get a room without a terrace as you can not use it as the monkeys can enter. King bed and OK shower, TV, swimming pool Game pool with lights for game viewing especially at night. Very good breakfast and dinner with very... More

Situated within the Hwange National Park, the main feature that strikes you as you enter this hotel is the large open field at the rear, which houses a small pool and overlooks a watering hole where birds, baboons, and springboks gather. There was a crocodile during our visit that was munching on birds foolish enough to gather along the water's... More

We had just come from two nights in Hwange Safari Park itself, so were delighted to be able to relax and enjoy this hotel. The watering hole is a big attraction and it was fantastic to be able to chill out by the pool and still see all of the animals (including a family group of elephants) passing through. It... More

I recently got to spend a night with some foreign guests and I was very impressed with the layout and service at the lodge. I found the staff very friendly and the service impressive. We were even lucky enough to arrive the day after they dropped the prices of food and beverages. It is good to see that someone is... More

Hwange Safari Lodge is possibly one of the best locations and hotel designs in southern Africa. I have visited it many times over the past three decades and I always come away with a deep sense of pleasure. The key feature of the Lodge is its floodlit waterhole located within the park boundaries which presents a unique opportunity to view... More

Returned to Hwange Safari lodge for another visit and again it did not disappoint. I love visiting here- the room was very comfortable and clean and the food was great. Complimentary wifi worked very well and was able to FaceTime with no problems at all. Real highlight is relaxing by the pool in the beautiful grounds watching animals come and... More

We stayed at Hwange on 5 January 2015. It is still a very attractive hotel with nice rooms and attentive staff. The highlight of course is the view of the waterhole right on the door step. We were lucky enough to see a large herd of sable antelope coming down to drink.. a very rare and special sighting. Our guide... More
