When at Hwange Safari lodge, one forgets that they are in Zimbabwe. Even though I am in Zimbabwe on business and spent the evening at Hwange Safari Lodge, it definitely felt as if I was on holiday! Big ups to the Head Waiter, Elias, excellent service from him and his friendly team at the restaurant! Will definitely be back!

We stayed for a couple of nights - what a great end to our trip! The gam drives were the best I've been on in terms of sheer volume of wildlife - ranging from lions to huge herds of elephants. Our guide, Lazarus, was lovely and really good. The food and service were excellent. Rooms were spacious and very clean.... More

We landed at the Hwange air strip and were welcomed by game vehicles ready to escort us to our lodge. The drive was short and nippy but was enjoyable nonetheless. The hotel check in procedure was seamless and the welcome drinks were refreshing. The rooms were well appointed, large and facing the watering hole. At about 18:30 a herd of... More

The lodge is located in the Hwange National Park which is the biggest wildlife park in Zimbabwe. The layout of the lodge is a horseshoe shape around a watering hole where different types of animals can be seen all day. Warthog, zebra, elephant, wilderbeast and all kinds of antelope. Some have reported seeing big cats there as well (mainly lions).... More

The Hotel is placed in a very privileged place, an amazing Park, right in front of a waterhole for animals to gather (this time there weren't many of them because there is plenty of water around...). It is the third time I stay in this lodge and is always great to come back. The Hotel is a bit run-down, the... More

Although this is a larger and older Lodge dating to the 70’s, most of their rooms have been renovated. If you don’t mind staying with larger groups, it is an affordable choice. You can book game drives from here if you don’t want to use you own car in the Hwange National Park. Their waterhole not far from the Lodge... More

Really, the people of Zimbabwe do not deserve so few visitors; we were almost alone in the hotel. The lodge is very nice, the staff extraordinary, always willing to help and wanting to fulfill all our requirements; the food was excellent served with great amability in the garden while watching the game at the waterhole, especially those huge herds of... We arrived to find 40 elephant arriving at the waterhole in front of the lodge & staff waiting to greet us. It set the tone for our four night stay. The game viewing was absolutely top notch as our guide Lazarus showed us lion eating their kill (an elephant), elephants, cheetah, giraffe, hippo, croc, buffalo, baboon,Impala, steenbok, warthog & so much... I have been in the tourism industry for 28 years and really have NEVER experienced such good overall service at a lodge - it was as if the staff here can not do enough to make you feel welcome and help where-ever, how-ever. The smiles and attitudes are real. Amazing. I have stayed here before a few times, but the... More

We were greeted with the sight of a herd of elephants grazing by the water hole and a young bull elephant terrorizing a couple of guests in the viewing platform. The rooms off the main atrium were large and spacious with great viewing balconies. The Dining room was occupied by a debating competition so dining was al fresco - standard... More
