We stayed with fellow Geneseo graduates for one night in this lovely inn at Thanksgiving. We have always admired it from the outside but you need to stay here to full appreciate all it has to offer. The outside is a preserved mansion house that has been added onto to provide a banquet hall and extra accommodations. The whole place... More

First of all, I will say that the staff at the Big Tree Inn were very friendly and accommodating upon registration. We were a little early for dinner (4 p.m.), but didn't have lunch prior to our arrival, so we were hungry. We stayed on a Sunday, so the Main Street of Geneseo was very quiet. We walked the street... The Big Tree Inn used to be good but in the last 2 years the menu has changed and I believe the management has changed and not for the better. The appetizer menu no longer has shrimp cocktail on it and the selections are limited. I order Filet Mignon last night and it was cooked perfectly and then ruined by... More

We were in town for the college reunion, and needed a place to stay the night. The room was one of the King suites on the second floor. we received at the Big Tree was spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfy. We didn't use the jacuzzi tub or fireplace because we were only there one night, but the... More

We have stayed here several times while my son attended Geneseo. He is graduating in a couple of weeks and , alas, it is booked so we are shut out. The Inn is run by the college and is not perfect. If I had written this review a couple of years ago, it would not have been so favorable, but... More

Having stayed at various B&Bs around New York there are certain things we have come to expect from a B&B where the Big Tree Inn just doesn't measure up. 1. I made my reservation online several weeks earlier. On my reservation I made special reference to wanting the Bethia Room. Upon arrival they had us in the Mark Twain Room.... More

We stopped at the inn for one night, bringing our freshman daughter to college from Thanksgiving break. Arrived late, very tired, had dinner, the food sounded fancy, but turned out to be very disappointing. Literally one minute that we walked into our room on the 3rd floor we received a phone call that "your kids" were too noisy. We figured... More

We ate at the tavern. It's the same menu plus a pub menu. Let's skip to the part where there was hair in the food, service is not good. Just bc there are two table doesn't mean customers should see you sitting behind the bar reading a newspaper and our drinks are empty twice. The food was not edible we sent... More

We were here for 3 nights in the Mark Twain Room No. 308. It's a large spacious room with a huge jacuzzi in the room, nice closet space and large bath. The inn has 8 rooms. They were very responsive. I sat in the lobby one afternoon and they brought me a pot of tea. One complaint is that the... More

We did not stay there, although we intend to. The property looks magnificent. Since we came after 9pm, we only had time for drinks. The tavern is very old with lots of character. Great bartender and ggreat selection of NY craft beer. Has a great veranda facing the main street to eat or dink. A classy place to get a... More
