We booked a one night stay after hiking locally. It's a lodge and they twice it accordingly but at just about $ 200 a night it should be tighter. One pillow on our queen bed did not have a pillow case and we had to ask for it and put it on ourselves. Our first floor room off the lobby... More

The Lodge is one of the more comfortable places we have ever stayed. VERY comfortable bed. Great breakfast for preparing to hike or bike ride. Attentive and helpful staff. Cookies, popcorn, tea and coffee 24 hrs. S'mores it the evening. Beautiful building fits in with trees and soaring cliffs.

We ordered a room with a deck which turned out not to be a "Forrest" view but a view on the ground floor of the car park. They charged us an additional 10% service charge on top of the agreed booking price at check out. They stated this was company policy to charge that and apologised it was not highlighted... More

was working the front desk and upgraded us to "mountain view" at no charge; she was very friendly and accommodating, recommending a great German restaurant right up the road that was fabulous. Our new room was wonderful, clean with excellent view of the Cliffs and woods. We enjoyed the complimentary tea and coffee in the spacious and comfortable common room... More

I have stayed here in the past and found it to be lovely: great location; very clean; helpful staff. This time was a big disappointment. The room was dirty. The air conditioner did not work properly. And the bed did not have a sheet. When I tracked down the staff, he informed me that they ran out of clean sheets!... More

The ownership and management of the Minnewaska Lodge changed in January 2015. It seems that in just a few short months they have run what used to be a wonderful establishment into the ground. We arrived to find used sheets on our beds and an overflowing ashtray on the balcony. When we asked for clean sheets we were told they... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights while visiting relatives in New Paltz. The Lodge is 5 or so miles from New Paltz in the general area of the Mohonk Preserve. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We had a Cliffview room with a deck that looked out on the Trapps area of the Shawangunk Mountains. There... More

Go for a room with balcony with cliffside view of trees and mountains. It is a very peaceful place. The rooms are simple but comfortable. Nice place to relax even in the rain. Not sure if this is a bed and breakfast or hotel...probably someplace in between. There is a common room with a view where you can always get... More

I was surprised to read all the negative reviews of Minnewaska Lodge. Perhaps the expectations of these guests were different from mine. Granted, it is not a luxury hotel and some of the lodge's staff members are sweet but not entirely on the ball. However, the setting is absolutely gorgeous, with a beautiful view of the mountain. The rooms are... More

Have been going to Minnewaska lodge for several years. We stayed 2 nights the last weekend in May 2015. (1). Maid wrote us a note that our room would not be cleaned because we weren't back there by 11:00 (which we were) - where did this rule come from? At these prices! (2). Gym had broken machine, no water in... More
