What a great place. The location is very peaceful and tranquil. A great place for a couples weekend. The staff was amazing. There were 2 gas fire pits, great to just sit and relax. I will defiantly be back!

Recommended by our son and girlfriend who usually spend a night or two at lodge and hike. We live in northern NJ and place is about one hour drive.. Had gift certificate for lodge from children and decided to go on one night excursion. Much needed. Place is total tranquility! Peaceful and beautiful. Got there early...about 11 am but front... Natural beauty location, that's it, nothing else. Impersonal, zero service, apathetic staff, poorly run, terrible, save your $£ , go elsewhere! No words to state complete disappointment- total bust out. There are -zero- amenities at this property. Aside from breakfast - zero, nada, zip! A glass of wine, a bite of food, not available! Aside from a deli next door... More

This is a private lodge with no more than 30 rooms geared to outdoors people that hike bicycle ride or are there to climb the shawangunk ridges Staff is great. Rooms clean and includes breakfast geared to healthily types. The homemade granola is great Has a great view and two fire pits outside with Adirondack chairs Meals must be obtained... More

I spent one night here and yet I have to say, this is a very special - even magical - place. The location at the base of the Shawangunk Mountains is tranquil and gorgeous. The quiet is profound. There are fire pits outside and to sit in a chair with the fire crackling and gaze up at the mountains ...... More

Not friendly, found the room dirty when we arrived late, the toilet was literally covered in grime on the inside rim, crumbs on the night table. Second day, no one cleaned the room, third day we requested the room be cleaned and came back to find the balcony door (we were on the 1st floor) wide open, not only to... More

The Minnewaska lodge is our very favorite place to visit in the New Paltz and surrounding area. It's a lovely peaceful getaway and very close to wonderful hiking areas and across the street from our very favorite restaurant Mountain Brauhaus. The lodge has yummy cookies always waiting for you in the lobby. The rooms are very comfy cozy and clean.... More

The Gunks are an amazing playground. Being able to stay within a stone's throw from the cliffs and right across the street from the Mountain Brauhaus is amazing. The facility is comfy-cozy. The rooms are standard hotel style rooms with decks. The back of the lodge faces the Near Trapps. The breakfast is good. The coffee is great.

This was our fifth stay at the lodge, still a very nice place. Beats the chain by a mile just with the beautiful views. It has run down a little over the years, there where knobs and hooks missing in our bathroom. They hung new art, but left the old art fixtures attached to the wall. I had to call... More

This was a great spot for a couple of days out of the city. The lodge was warm and welcoming. Our room had a beautiful view of the cliffs and was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was great - slow-cooked oatmeal was perfect to get you going for a day of hiking and the cookies available with coffee and tea during... More
