Our family (two couples, grandparents, and three rambunctious boys who were 6, 4, and 2 years old) travelled to Fleischmanns for a 3-day Bellayre ski trip between Christmas and New Year's Day. Ben was very professional and cordial. The service in terms of breakfast (delicious quiche, breads, and coffee) and information (great suggestion to dine at the Peekamoose Restaurant with... more

We spent 4 nights with Ben & Melissa at the end of December and had a terrific time. They are hard working and very helpful hosts who provide a super breakfast with fresh fruit and delicious bakes. The afternoon treats were delightful (homemade cookies and cakes). The Retro suite was prefect for us, enough space for everyone. The fully equipped... more

We were fortunate enough to get a last minute room on a busy Christmas weekend. The innkeepers went out of their way to make us feel so welcome! They made up a special hot chocolate for my daughter and delivered it to our room! She was thrilled! For breakfast, we had the most wonderful cranberry walnut muffins, still warm from... more

My husband and I are pretty picky, especially about B&Bs, and we both loved this place. We stayed in the Delaware room which was large, comfortable and quiet (it overlooks the main street, but it's a pretty quiet town!). I also thought it was good value compared to what else I saw online. The inn is quaint and charming, decorated... more

The River Run B&B is an ideal stop for skiers looking for a great overnight spot when skiing Belleayre Mountain. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. The host, Ben, is friendly, attentive to the needs of guests and the great cook of a delicious hot French Toast dish addition to their included breakfast. We have stayed at the River Run... more

Overall....great. First, it's in a funky little town...not much going on right in town, but plenty within a 20 min drive (we went hiking at Giant Ledge - amazing views - and then canoeing on a lake). The house is comfortable, clean, and cozy. This is not a fancy upscale inn, but rather someplace where you feel comfortable wearing your... more

Although I'm new to the B&Bs, we were fairly disappointed with the River Run. Ben is a very nice inn keeper, but the experience lacked any charm or romance that would make it preferrable to a regular hotel. It is a historic building that simply feels historic. The room was small and bland, lacking a phone, tv, and a clock.... more

Thanks for your comments. In my opinoin, our rooms are quaint and charming. We don't pretend to be what we're not: an expensive, super-upscale inn. We advertise ourselves as a simple, clean, comfortable bed & breakfast. For value, our third floor rooms share a hall bath for $89 per night which includes breakfast. It is very clearly noted on our...

My husband and I spent two nights in mid-October at the River Run. It's a perfectly fine place - nice innkeepers, decent breakfast, reasonable room. I would not recommend that friends stay there if they had other options. We won't return. We were glad to find this place though - it was a last minute trip, and we have a... more

To respond to the reviewer's concerns: 1) The reviewer never mentioned any dis-satisfaction while staying at the inn. 2) We are very upfront about the room sizes on our website. We usually don't have guests with dogs in the Beaverkill room because of its' size but made an exception for these guests. 3) We do our best to keep the...

I have dealt with many B&B's in my time - and more recently, for my July wedding, I spoke to /saw/considered at least a dozen properties in the Catskills area. Hands down, Ben was the most knowledgeable about the area and the most helpful on all fronts. Period. Whether I was looking for good places for meals, other places to... more

My husband and I had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We had a lot of things to do and were never bored. Ben, the owner, was just so helpful in everything we did. If we said we were going somewhere, he would print out directions and he told us of many local happenings that were going on. His inn is... more
