My sister and I had to make a quick trip to Syracuse for a funeral. We had no idea where to stay as we were not familiar with the area. A local recommended the Craftsman Inn and since there were only a few rooms available, we went ahead and booked it. Upon arrival, we loved the cute welcoming porch area... More

My sister and I stayed here recently for a funeral we had to come to the area for. The overall look of the Inn is cute, but we stayed in a first floor room and the whole first floor had a very musty odor and the carpet was quite stained.. maybe water damage ? It had quite a moldy odor.... More

The Craftsman Inn is the perfect place to stay for family visiting, as well as, business travel. The rooms are beautifully decorated, updated and spacious. The service is impeccable, with the staff always meeting our needs. There are plenty of places to eat and shop within walking distance and the hotel restaurant has delicious food. It is our go-to hotel... More

I've stayed in the Craftsman Inn twice in the last two months, and have been very pleased both times. Front desk staff is capable, efficient, and friendly. Rooms are lovely, and they are quiet. Location is handy with a restaurant right next door and numerous other options right across the road. Good location and good place to be. I'll be... More

The Craftsman Inn is located on a busy road but road noise was never a problem. The lobby is heavy on beautiful old woodwork. There is always coffee and tea there. On the whole, the stay was satisfactory and the staff pleasant and helpful. On the downside, the rooms..ours anyway... was in need of refurbishing, repainting and updating. The bed... More

We appreciate the excellent feedback. And I always want to say thank you in particular when our staff are acknowledged for their friendly service. You are right that we still have some rooms that have not had the benefit of our latest upgrading, and I apologize that there were concerns. We are moving forward with our remodeling, and are pleased... More

We lived in Syracuse for many years, never heard of the Craftsman Inn. Moved out of state and always went back to Syracuse when we visited. Our last trip to Syracuse (with the help of Trip Advisor brought us to Fayetteville, not Syracuse. What a wonderful place to stay. The Inn is very homey, loved the front porch. The folks are... More

Thank you so much for your great recommendation! It is true that we are often listed as a Fayetteville hotel, but we are literally just 15 minutes from Downtown, Armory Square and Syracuse University. And as you point out, we do have very nice shopping and dining options right across the street! Again, thank you, and we look forward to... More

This place is in need of updating but was clean and comfortable. It is not an inn but a standard hotel. The rooms look out on to the parking lot. So don't go expecting more than a hotel room, Aside from that, the rooms were clean. The bed was very comfortable, but the old A/C units are noisy and had... More

First and foremost, let me thank you for for giving us such a nice critique. It always makes us feel proud when the friendliness and courtesy of our staff is acknowledged. Secondly, we do agree that we have some more upgrading that we need to see. We have completely renovated many of our rooms, but we still have a way... More

Our second visit this year was for a sad event, the passing of a family member, but our stay was very pleasant at this conveniently located inn. The front porch and its rocking chairs made a great place for the family to gather and reminisce and there were fresh, homemade chocolate chip cookies to boot. Clean rooms, plentiful parking and... I was in town for a reunion and wanted to stay somewhere that wasn't a chain hotel next to an interstate, and didn't want to overspend on a B&B. The Craftsman was a great alternative - reasonably priced, in town, and a nice atmosphere. As another reviewer noted, it is more motel than hotel, but that doesn't take anything away... More

We truly appreciate your kind words about The Craftsman. As you say, we do offer an alternative to the more typical interstate hotel. Being in the Eastern neighborhoods of Syracuse does provide us with an excellent location as well, for those that may be attending social or family events there. And we have been working on replacing those TVs! More

Had a nice two night stay here for my family's Celebration of Life ceremony. Nice room, good workout facilities, great location near all that we needed. Very nice staff and restaurant. They offered a coupon form breakfast that confused them. Also a wine coupon they honored. If you are looking to use a coupon, check in with them first.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a nice critique. You touched on some of the things that we feel very positive about ourselves. The heart of the village of Fayetteville and Fayetteville Town Center are steps from our door, providing great shopping and dining options. Our restaurant, The Limestone Grille, has always been a neighborhood... More
