I live in the Elmira area but my house had caught fire and burnt down, so my family and I moved into this hotel for a few weeks until we could find a place to rent, until our house was rebuilt. The staff was great, the rooms were clean (everyday). The owners even provided us with food during our stay.... More

This was well rated on trip advisor so I wanted to try it. The reviews are correct, well kept slightly dated motel at a decent price. What should be noted is that this is actually an efficiency apartment with stove, kitchen supplies, dishes, etc. It has two rooms and bath. Flat screen in the living room and small tv in... More

It's a 50s or 60s style independently owned motel, 2 stories (no elevator), with parking in front of your door. Our room was huge - more like an apartment. Large living area with complete & fully stocked kitchenette, eating area, couch & comfy recliner chair (which my husband loved for watching the ball game on the nice flat screen). Smallish... More

We arrived here the day after last summer's tornado - the electricity was just restored as we got there. The room was great and a real bargain. There was a sitting area, small kitchen, and the bedroom was secluded in the back area. The staff was fantastic.

If you want fancy smancy, this isn't the place. If you need clean, functional, roomy living quarters. You found it. This lodge is locally owned and operated. Check in was super easy. The super nice staff stayed at the office waiting for late arrival. The unit we had was perfect as it gave my husband the space he wanted and... More

If you're looking for a hotel with whirlpool tubs, fitness center, continental breakfasts, room service, then this is not the place for you. IF your looking for a great family owned hotel in a small town neighborhood with warm, friendly proprietors, and need a place to rest your head and relax then this is the place. The hotel is not... The hotel is very old as well as the furnishings. The windowsills in the bedroom were filthy. The musty smell of old carpet permeated everything. Couldnt believe what they charge for this room. I do agree with another reviewer that it is a smokers paradise. There were ashtrays outside of everyroom on the windowsill as well as every stairway.

The Coachman Motor Lodge is a wonderful family-owned place to stay, located in a quiet residential small-town neighborhood. My family and I stay there every time we stop in Elmira NY (once a year, on our way to Keuka Lake). The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and the price is affordable (they have an AAA discount, too). Each... More

The room was clean. The beds were very comfortable. The staff was pleasant. Unfortunately, someone had smoked in the room excessively before we arrived. What a shame, the smell of the room really ruined this hotel.

Clean quaint alternative to staying at a chain. Nice rooms, nice staff. Would stay again.
