The owner is the problem with the hotel - Arrogant, rude and just not a very nice person. Can't believe place is still open. Read the reviews as I am not the only person that has said the same about the owner. Staff were very pleasant and food was good.

Had a voucher for two steak meals with wine. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food took a while to arrive but you expect that when it is being freshly cooked. Steaks were perfectly cooked to our requirements and a lovely choice of vegetables were served As we only had a soft drink with meal we were given our coffees... More

We booked the Romance Package and can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed it - we had been given a superior room with views overlooking the Forth. The Prosecco and chocolates were most welcome. Our 3 course dinner was average; breakfast however was lovely and very filing. The staff are very friendly and extremely accommodating. This package was WELL worth the... More

We were booked in for the romantic package. Girl at reception was friendly. Room was lovely and spacious. Prosecco and chocolates were in our room nice and chilled which was lovely. Had our 3 course dinner in the restaurant and it was delcious. Once again staff made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was absolutely lovely and staff offered us more... More

Haven't been for a number of years but we decided to go o the party night in December 2014. I don't really drink and have to say look forward to a nice meal. The set menu sounded nice with choice of starters, melon, pate or lentil soup. Main course , traditional turkey sirloin of beef and salmon with a vegetarian... More

We had a one night stay for our wedding anniversary. The hotel was very comfortable, large room with great views over the river Forth. The room was well presented and spotlessly clean. Our deal included a bottle of Prosecco which was in the room in a bucket of ice when we arrived. The restaurant was very good with a fine... More

Gloomy entrance on a wet winters evening. No sign of anyone so waited 10 minutes. Finally got our keys and with some effort found our room which could only be described as small and tired. After reading a few reviews I can confirm we got no Prosecco or chocolates! I can only presume the wine comes with the "smartish room"... More

Stayed two nights on 1st and 2nd December and was very impressed. Room (number 11) was clean and spacious and quiet at night. Bed was comfy and everything worked properly. Decorative order was good with no marks on the carpet and walls and the grouting and sealant in the overbath shower was clean and mold free for a change. Staff... More

Purchased the deal through itison and was greatly impressed. Bottle of prosseco and chocs on arrival and it only got better. Dinner was great as was the breakfast next morning. Lovely cozy hotel with great staff and the room No. 11 was just perfect. Pity it's tucked away so far from a bigger population area. Must come back in mid... More

Absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed, the manager is a joke, the worst manager I have ever came across. My boyfriend and I got a noise complaint from this very rude woman for being too loud in the restaurant which isn't hard to do as its tiny and had two other tables in!!! because we were the younger...
