Gloomy entrance on a wet winters evening. No sign of anyone so waited 10 minutes. Finally got our keys and with some effort found our room which could only be described as small and tired. After reading a few reviews I can confirm we got no Prosecco or chocolates! I can only presume the wine comes with the "smartish room"... More

Stayed two nights on 1st and 2nd December and was very impressed. Room (number 11) was clean and spacious and quiet at night. Bed was comfy and everything worked properly. Decorative order was good with no marks on the carpet and walls and the grouting and sealant in the overbath shower was clean and mold free for a change. Staff... More

Purchased the deal through itison and was greatly impressed. Bottle of prosseco and chocs on arrival and it only got better. Dinner was great as was the breakfast next morning. Lovely cozy hotel with great staff and the room No. 11 was just perfect. Pity it's tucked away so far from a bigger population area. Must come back in mid... More

Absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed, the manager is a joke, the worst manager I have ever came across. My boyfriend and I got a noise complaint from this very rude woman for being too loud in the restaurant which isn't hard to do as its tiny and had two other tables in!!! because we were the younger... We paid for the romantic package including prosecco, chocolates and dinner, b & b. Prosecco was lovely as were the chocolates (according to my hubby!!). We had a lovely dinner - we both had haggis to start which was lovely.I had the chicken with whiskey sauce and hubby had the curry. For dessert I had a Calypso coffee which was... More

This hotel will not survive much longer unless the business owner changes direction and invests some money back into this Hotel. Also need to look at the very tired and predictable menu, get a decent chef and use decent quality food. The curry was out of the jar and rice was over cooked. The wine was over priced and I... Wonderful hotel. We had a lovely big room overlooking the Firth of Forth- well equipped & warm. The staff were lovely & friendly & the food was great - enormous portions. Many thanks for a great break.

Not much of a welcome Our welcome gift was no where to be seen after the third request it finally arrived! Poorly attended and stocked bar 5 minute wait for every drink ! Dinner was very poor stodgy curry and stir fry! On retiring to our creaky floorboard room we pull back the duvet to find remnants of previous guests... More

It is a shame that a hotel in such a lovely location has been neglected so long. I have worked in Hotels most of my life because my father owned one. This hotel from the front door to the bedroom was screaming for money to be spent on it! The evening meal was a disappointment . I had the fish... More
