This hotel has recently been taken over by new management so I don't know what it was like before but I thought it was great. Quite expensive but then that's what you expect in the middle of summer in East Hampton. Because I hadn't pre-booked I ended up changing rooms several times. I stayed in some of the bigger ones... more

We travelled to the Hamptons from NYC for a relaxing weekend. We decided to stay at the Maidstone -- big mistake. The hotel has a beautiful exterior and lawn. The prices are WAY OUT of line for the kind of room. We paid $745 per night for the "Magnificent" level room and expected a boutique hotel with superior service --... more

A Swedish hotelier has taken over this beautiful charming inn with it's primo location for everything East Hampton-walk or take one of their bikes they provide to the beach or intown and the lovely town ponds complete with swans out front! The restaurant is great-had breakfast, lunch and dinner---packed with people on weekend night. From regulars I learned that the... more

Cottage was adorable and clean with nice little touches, giving it a nice homey and welcoming feel. Location is excellent. We enjoyed the breakfasts, service and friendly front desk staff as well as the private garden and wireless internet connection. Bathtub small for tall person and parking quite busy on weekends. Would definitely recommend! more

Three of us stopped in for breakfast on July 8th. There were three tables of customers, one with foreigners. I dont know who is working in the kitchen but he/she better get out. All three tables had sour milk for their coffee. It curdled as you poured it. My niece ordered French Toast. It must have been made last month... more

We have sojourned often at the Maidstone Arms in East Hampton. We have always found the rooms well-kept, clean and warmly furnished. The garden was very relaxing and very well suited for the East Hampton mood.......ingratiating and pleasant. With the new restaurant, we had very good food and very special service. But the full week-end breakfast was beyond expectations as... more

Went to the Maidstone Arms to spend my birthday weekend & was quite pleased with the place. Upon walking into the porch a distinctive smell was coming from within the Inn (wood burning fireplace!) which brought a smile to me and husband. We checked in around 11am & were very happy that the room was available before check in time... more

Stayed in June for a weekend and was treated beautifully by staff. The desk was friendly and made a point to go out of the way to accommodate my needs. The restaurant I was told has a new owner and the look is very inviting. Have reservations for July and will make it a point to arrive next summer as... more

Decent inn, slightly rundown, but the staff is so horrible and angry that I would never stay there again. I was there for the Hamptons Film Festival and paid $500 a night and the staff was NASTY and very unfriendly. The restaurant is even worse. It's as if they are pissed off that you are staying there. I'd stay at... more
