First the positives - beautifully appointed room, very cool, funky, artist themed (Munch); hotel has great restaurant, nice outdoor patio, friendly staff (Mike, the bartender, was great) - BUT: overall OVERPRICED (I realize this IS the Hamptons, but I think the value for the price was very low) - room was SMALL (felt more like a room in Europe) -... We come twice a year to this perfectly located inn in East Hampton. Each time, we are thrilled to be back and to use their bikes to hit the many splendid beaches and tour town. This year, our favorite is Egypt beach, the most spectacular stretch of white sand only minutes away from the inn. The Living Room restaurant has... More

I have never written a review before but couldn’t keep quiet about this one. We stayed at the Maidstone over the 4th of July weekend and paid a most absurd price of $775 per night (plus taxes). Because it was likely our one and only trip to East Hampton, I decided to splurge. I expected the place might be dated... More

Wonderful 18th century home transformed into a bright and colorful Scandinavian inn. My husband and I went for a weekend and although it rained it was still absolutely wonderful. Each of the rooms are decorated differently and inspired by a celebrated Scandinavian. A tip would be to look up the rooms and then request the room you think is the... More

My wife and I had lunch at the Library in the Maidstone in May and enjoyed our meal - summary for our rating: 1. Service was very friendly and inviting from the moment we arrived until we departed 2. Menu was limited - mostly sandwich selections - they could add some variety ! Food was good, but a bit bland.... More

After selling my house in the Hamptons, I couldn't possibly walk away for good. So we rented last summer, and just this past weekend, booked a room in the c/o The Maidstone--care of? why? in the perfect location, in glamorous East Hampton, facing a tranquil pond and a very quiet cemetery. The Maidstone has been a staple in that spot... More

I love this boutique hotel in the Hamptons! It's a quirky, eclectic curation of color and contrast all wrapped in with Swedish charm and thoughtful touches. The restaurant is a remarkable experience with one fantastic, Swedish-inspired dish after another. I found the staff to be uber warm and welcoming. French press coffee pots in the room are a nice change... More

Wasn't going to review this place, there was simply too many negative things to say but then I read a blog post by one of the managers and it made me think.... In her blog she says something along the way that 'these specific guests really made the week end what it was'. And there is the problem, a lot... More
