My wife and I just spent two weeks in beaver river with our two daughters, their ages are 5 and 9. It was a very special trip for me. My first visit to the Norridgewok was 30 years ago, I was 19 at the time and was traveling alone. I was blown away by the vastness of the surrounding wilderness.... More

Cannot get there by car. Took a gorgeous boat ride down Stillwater Reservoir to get there. Had no idea. What a great "off the grid" place. Big Bon fire, cold drinks and live music made for a great day.

Norridgewock is in a remote area that is only accessible by boat during the non-winter season and by snow mobile during the winter. They produce their own eletricity for the facilities from a generator. The Norridgewock offers a 'Snooze and Cruise" package which includes a narrated boat tour, hotel room, lunch, dinner and breakfast. Our hotel room was comfortable and... More

This is the perfect place to relax & just have a great time. We spent 4 nights in Baby Bear cabin. It was just what we needed - no phone, internet, tv, radio. Just trails & roads & shore to explore. The Thompson family does a great job with this place. They are wonderful to deal with. Very low key... More

The Norridgewock was a unique experience. We found it by accident when looking for a place to make a weekend trip in the Adirondack region. The family who has run this lodge for about 3 generations brings you by ferry to their natural remote spot. They are freindly, they entertain you, cook for you, provide your lodging and all you... We've been coming back with the kids year after year. Just back from another beautiful week in the woods. Gives our family a great way to disconnect. Highly recommend. Not too many destinations like this one.

Stayed here for an overbite, the snooze and cruise is well worth it. Peace and quiet! The folks who run the place, Scott, Ginger and crew , know how to relax. We are a Ready planning our next trip out. Very!!! Remote, beautiful. You will love it.

We took the tour boat from Stillwater Reservoir to Beaver River and had lunch at the Norridgewock III. The only electricity in town comes from generators and although cars can get to Beaver River they have to make at least part of the trip by barge. The fourth generation of a family runs the lodge and take great pride in... More

This is the perfect place to get away from it all, literally! No TV, no phone , no newspaper, no crowds no traffic - nothing to think about except for the beautiful surroundings. Hiking, canoeing, swimming, Fishing, relaxing. Not for the pampered. Thompson's are the perfect host's. Always hate to leave.
