Tara and Mark Barnwell run a VERY NICE B & B, The Barnwell Inn, right near the heart of Cooperstown. We walked to almost everything we did in town. It's only three blocks to Main Street (Hall of Fame, stores, restaurants, coffee shop) although it is a longer walk to the Otesaga (for lunch or dinner at the Hawkeye or... More

Tara and Mark Barnwell were fabulous hosts and the breakfasts were amazing, especially the desserts served for breakfast each day. Ask Mark to make his famous grits - they are spectacular! We are a group of seven couples who travel together every year and the Barnwells made our time in Cooperstown memorable.

My wife and I stayed at the Barnwell Inn while in Cooperstown for a wedding. The rooms were big and clean and amazingly decorated - my wife spent 2 hours taking pictures with all of the vintage decorations. The owners were amazingly friendly, and when we had to leave early on the second day, they packed up a home cooked... More

I am very late with this review, and for that I apologize. My wife and I celebrated our 1-year anniversary in May of 2014, Memorial Day Weekend, in Cooperstown and stayed at the wonderful Barnwell Inn. I can't say enough great things about Mark and Tara. To start, in advance of our stay, Tara sent us an email with a... More

My wife and I went up to Cooperstown for vacation. We picked this place because of the reviews. We were not dissappointed. The place was very clean and comfortable to stay. Tara and Mark made us feel at home. The food was not to dissappoint. They had the best breakfast we ever had at a B&B. Thanks for a wonderful... More

We spent 2 nights here and instantly felt comfortable and very welcome. Mark and Tara are wonderful people who truly know how to host. The accommodations were terrific and very clean. We were in walking distance of all the restaurants and shops downtown. We are planning a stay again next year. Looking forward to it and hope we have the... More

Tara and Mark made us all feel so at home- every detail was so well thought out. The breakfasts were outstanding, with guests discussing which was the best dish and asking for recipes. Centrally located and a very special experience. Highly recommended!

Spent three nights at the Barnwell Inn while attending opera at Glimmerglass. The hosts, Tara and Mark, are very welcoming and strive to provide a happy experience for their guests. However, the rigid breakfast hour did not coincide with our schedules. We also found our room dark and dreary, which may relate to the rainy weather during our stay. The... More

A really terrific B&B. Tara and Mark are great hosts, and Mark is a culinary genius. The fabulous breakfasts are an experience more so than a meal! In fact, save your lunch money - you won't need it. Beyond the great food, the B&B is a delight - very comfortable, clean and spacious rooms, and just a few minutes walk... More

My husband and I picked this B&B based on its glowing online reviews. After staying there for two nights, I can say with certainty that the reviews were spot-on. This place is fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming place to stay in Cooperstown. Tara was so friendly and welcoming, the room was perfect,... More
