the only saving grace about this property is that the hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful; i won't pan them but shame on red roof; before i booked this hotel i spoke with the reservation staff and asked very specific questions; i was informed this hotel was completely renovated which is an outright lie; it's a very old hotel... I stayed at the Inn at Clifton Park for a two night weekend stay, for a parents' weekend at Skidmore College. I always stay outside of Saratoga Springs in order to save money because decent rooms usually cost $200+ in town and I'd rather spend my money with my daughter at shops and restaurants, not just to sleep. This is... More

Let me just preface by saying that I'm not, by any means, the type of traveler who is used to staying at fancy hotels. However, for spending $100 just to sleep somewhere for a few hours, this place is a HUGE rip off! Considering the conditions, I could've stayed at a cheap, run down motel, for half of that. The... While nothing in the Saratoga region is inexpensive, this hotel was reasonably priced and within close proximity to everything. They even accommodated me when I requested early check-in on a busy Friday night. Nothing special, but moderately clean and convenient. Not the worst option if traveling alone and looking for a budget-priced place to crash in a very expensive area... More

Very disappointed in the accommodations..Sheets stained...carpet down first floor hall lifting...carpet in rooms stained., no bathroom water pressure. Don't even go near the pool, it is roped off. Breakfast was a waffle, toast or cereal. Coffee was lacking, very watery. Too bad...it would be a nice hide away.

This place is very sad indeed. It reeks of cigarette smell, is disgustingly dirty throughout, the toilette didn't work in the first room they gave us. Service is non-existent, and so is the "included breakfast". (you pretty much get a waffle in addition to the coffee and that's about it) Wi-Fi didn't work in the room on the first floor,... More

As I travel, I like to find "hidden" treasures of local business. Hotels, restaurants, and boutique shops are a travel reward to me. I have one night in Clifton Park, NY and found this outwardly charming hotel and checked in. No elevator, no problem. Smoke filled hallways, dirty carpets and walls, linens reeked of cigarette smoke in my "non-smoking" room.... More

While the staff was very nice. Location had a lit of good restaurants. The hallway smelled like stale ciggarets. Rooms are very nice. But if you don't mind sleeping on rocks. You will find the beds very very hard. Pillows were frumpy. I would have rated a 4 star. But hotels are about good sleep to me. Which I did... More

I was in New York with a tire blowout and had to find a place to stay. They were extrey accomadating. They gave me a late check and even let me leave my stuff in the hotel free of charge. The staff was very understanding of my situation. They definitely helped make the best of a bad situation.

From the warn, wrinkled and stained carpets in the hallway, peeling wall paper, holes in the towels, musty smelling room, it was disgusting. When the heat came on, it smelled like it was going to catch on fire. The spontaneous road trip ending in a bust. We left the hotel first thing in the morning. Another guest left bright and... More
