What an unexpected, most pleasant time we had on our way to Quebec City. Since our total drive time to QC would have been nine hours, we decided to split it up and looked for a B&B that was about 1/2 way there. We settled on the McKinley House in Clayton, N.Y. We had a quiet and comfortable room on... More

Had an amazing evening in Clayton during our 4 day bike trip. McKinley House is in an excellent location in the cute town of Clayton. The rooms are spacious and clean and the bed was super comfortable. Thanks Steve.

Beautiful Victorian home with spacious rooms. Great location where you can walk right into Clayton. Large bedrooms and everything is spotless. Breakfasts were ok (rather simple) and no TV's or coffee pots in the bedrooms, but the common living room area had both.

Very clean, very convenient location but not overwhelmed. We stay in B&B's everywhere we travel. This one was nice and would probably stay there again if in the area but there were limitations to giving this B & B an excellent review..

The McKlinley Bed and Breakfast is an old fashion retreat in charming Clayton. The hostess is charming and well informed about all happenings in the area. This home is very clean and comfortable. By the way Alyse displays beautiful, homemade beaded, jewelry. It is displayed in the dining room. I can't wait to come back.

The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The place is über clean and comfortable. Just know rooms do not have TV and breakfast is adequate. Good location near river and restaurants. Clayton is turning around and a nice place to visit.

Having fled the depressing assemblage of buses, boats, trinket shops and mediocre lodging of Alexandria Bay, I have to say that I had no soaring expectations for Clayton when I rode into town. Much to my surprise, I discovered that Clayton is a nice little river town, with some interesting shops, arts and crafts, the really cool boat museum and... More

We spent last Sunday night at this very nice B&B in Clayton after attending a show at the opera house. We were both very pleased with the hospitality, clean room and great breakfast. Steve the owner was most hospitable and we will return.

We thoroughly enjoyed three nights at the McKinley House! Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The inn is perfectly located in walking distance to the riverfront and quaint town. The hosts Steve and Elyse could not have been more accommodating. Breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed meeting the other guests. We will be sure to stay here when we... More
