The view from our room was worth the trip alone. Friends Lake is a gorgeous, clean and weedless lake. Our room was beautiful, soothing and very clean with comfortable bedding and chairs. The bathroom had a steam shower and two pedestal sinks. The best part is this; The price of your room includes breakfast and dinner daily and homemade chocolate... more

What a cozy, yet cosmopolitan spot for comfort and attention in the Adirondack Mts.! We enjoyed our accommodations, and the service was top-notch. The restaurant and wine-focus were truly special, though. We love wine and had a chance to try wines we would rarely take the opportunity to seek out. We came home with all sorts of ideas for new... more

I first enjoyed FLI when the former owners ran it. They now own another inn close by...They worked on "The Honor System"..You'd have a reservation & they would not take your credit card until you came to them at the end of your delightful stay. I remember saying to them "I was born & crazed in NYC, you are going... more

My husband and I spent 2 nights in 2 different rooms at the Friends Lake Inn. On arrival we were shown both of the rooms we would be spending our weekend in, both of the rooms were decorated very nicely. The second room was sold as looking over the lake. The lake is across the street and beyond a house,... more

My husband and myself stayed three nights in October in the Great Room which is nearly a suite with large sitting area with big sofa and chair perfect for reading adjacent to the sleeping area. There was a big stone fireplace that was laid each day for that evenings fire which we burned each night. There is a nice small... more

Stayed here for one night en route from Montreal to Boston. Really nice rooms, we managed to peek at most of them. They are not as chintzy as they appear on the website and offer great comfort. We ate at the restaurant that was first class, good choice and good dishes at reasonable prices. The hotel over looks Friends Lake... more

My husband and I took my mother here in August to celebrate her 75th birthday. (We apprised the Inn of this in advance, requesting a special birthday cake for the first night of our stay.) This was our second visit to the Inn (the last was a few years ago), and it was as wonderful or moreso than the first.... more

Had a lovely time at Friends Lake Inn. Would stay in the area again vs staying in the very commercial Lake George. Pros: Warm chocolate chip cookies delivered to the room Comfy bed Semi-private screened in balconies for all rooms Great wine list Trailhead to six+ hikes on property Beautiful bathrooms Wonderful, helpful staff Cons: NOT ON THE LAKE -... more

This is a first class operation. The service is top notch - friendly, professional and knowledgable. The food is just wonderful and the wait staff is the best I've encountered - ever. Can't wait to return. more

I had originally booked this "mini vacation" for my husband and myself as a Christmas present for my husband (of course, me too) and, to my surprise, realized I had a coupon that I could use to deduct a substantial amount from the price of the room. I contacted the inn to find out if it was applicable and, to... more
