It was getting late on a warm July night, we had been riding the goldwing since 9:00 am, stopping every two hours to stretch or grab something to eat. We were returning from a week traveling the coast of Maine, encountered some rather rough back roads of New Hampshire and Vermont, which make the goldwing uncomfortable. The sun had set, it was getting very dark, the first 3 motels we found were closed, when we found the Pine Tree Motel and Cabins. What a delight! The owner, Norleen, wandered from tending a large camp fire behind the cabins, to welcome us to her establishment. Her hard work in refinishing these well-maintained motel and cabins was obvious. Her story of ownership makes for a great campfire story starter, as other travelers join the fire with their own stories to share. Norleen and her husband are 'biker friendly', and welcome pets.
