I've stayed at 42 Montgomery in Cherry Valley, NY on two occasions and always had an enjoyable visit. The two different rooms that I was in were charming, cozy and quiet. My favorite experience was the breakfast room conversations with the other guests and Melanie. She is an excellent, warm and friendly hostess and makes everyone feel right at home.... more

Whether you are planning a "get-away" to the magical Cherry Valley or making a pilgrimage to the Cooperstown's Baseball Hall of Fame, you should definitely consider staying at 42 Montgomery. Staying at 42 Montgomery B&B was an added plus to our visit to the Hall of Fame Induction at Cooperstown, New York. It was a short drive back and forth through beautiful countryside. There is nothing like staying in a beutifully kept, circa 1840's home, just far enough outside Cooperstown to enjoy the magnificent drive - and - make a new friend. My husband, kids and I were greatly relieved to find a B&B with rooms available (nearby colleges with parents weekend seemed to take up most hotels/B&B's). My father, brothers and sisters and I were traveling to carry out my mother's last wishes after she recently died. Mom asked to be buried next to her parents (in a town near to... more

It was most upsetting to me to realize that I had to cancel this reservation. A daughter had been making plans for her parents and thoroughly relied on the whole family being together. At the last minute, she added more family members and needed all the rooms. It was a unique situation, but there was little else I could do....
