This bed and breakfast was a little disappointing. The room was small and we stayed in the largest room. There were two chairs in the room underneath the television and if you wanted to watch television you had to lay in bed and not sit in chair. The shower had some mold, however the room and the house was very... more

My friend and I were on a girl's getaway weekend to Chautauqua to explore the local wineries. We stayed at the Great Tree for two nights and enjoyed it immensely. Would definitely stay here again. The place was warm and cozy and very attractive. The breakfasts were delicious and filling. Samantha was very friendly and made suggestions of places to... more

The area is beautiful with Chautatuaqua Lake, the Institute, rolling hills and country side. Good fishing. The Inn was okay and the food fine. The rooms were priced right for their size though some maintenance needs to occur. There were issues though and that's why we will not go back. (1) Ridiculous lighting in the room and common areas made... more

It was truly a winter wonderland. The rooms had that "Inn-ish" charm with a different theme in each one. The rest of the Inn was beautifully decorated, always impeccably clean and had that cozy feel that makes you feel at home and welcome at every turn. The only thing that could possibly compete with the charm of the inn are... more

My wife & I traveled to the Great Tree Inn in Chautauqua, New York for the Chautauqua - Lake Erie Wine Trail's Annual Wine & Chocolate Weekend. We have stayed in the Chautauqua area twice before but unfortunately the Bed & Breakfast we had traditionally stayed at closed. We made our accomodations at the Great Tree Inn. The Great Tree... more

We stayed at the Great Tree Inn for the 4th of July Holiday and found it to be clean, quiet and very relaxing. Sam welcomed us warmly and served the most delicious breakfasts. The location is perfect for visiting Chautauqua Lake and the Chautauqua Institution. more

My husband and I stayed for New Years weekend and it was absolutely the BEST New Years get away package we have ever experienced. We have been going away for this weekend for years and the ambience and extra amenities provided by our hosts were above and beyond our expectations. The food was FABULOUS and Sam and Louis are experts... more

I stayed here with my family last summer while visiting nearby Chautauqua Institution which was about a 5 minute car ride away from the inn. Sam and Louis were extremely accomodating, very friendly and run a fantasic bed and breakfast! The food was great (breakfasts made-to-order by Sam herself )and the rooms, grounds, etc. were clean, cozy and inviting. We... more
