I stayed on Memorial weekend. Had 2 rooms adjoining. Rooms were very rundown. Appeared clean but I kept itching and didn't get into the bed. Had to sleep on top of the coverlet. Pool area seemed ok but on the 2nd day I saw 2 cockroaches in that area that were dead but didn't get swept up for the duration... more

My husband's family booked a Memorial Day Weekend here. After reading the reviews I was horrified and tempted to refuse to go. I was very anxious because we have a one year old and I didn't want her to be hanging out at a dump. I am glad we went. I had no expectations after reading the terribly negative reviews.... more

I felt compelled to give this review as I have read a few reviews rhat describe much of the unique charm of the Friar Tuck but then slant it all in a negative way. The Friar Tuck is a vintage Catskill resort with more space than it needs but lots of charm. The smells, the shadows, the decor and ambiance all... more

If you want to be very disappointed and feel like a complete loser...this is the place for you. Think of the worst place you could stay and lower the bar a little. The staff were rarely available and when we did manage to find them, they were unpleasant and made you feel like you were imposing on them. The place... more

We stayed in a two bedroom unit. Awful! The electrical needs immediate attention. In order to operate the plugs or anything plugged into them, the light switch must be on. Thus, if you want to lounge in bed with the lights off and watch tv, or have your wake-up alarm set, you cannot do so, because once you turn off... more

I am 20 years old and a student so thus i do not have a lot of money. But with the ski package i was able to ski and stay at the Friar for two days and one night. My friends and I drove up to the site and saw horses which totally matched the medievalish or cottagelike theme they... more

The hotel from the outside looks like an oriental pagota/red roof inn and the lobby looks like they tried to update it from medival times to the present and got stuck somewhere in between. The basement is where the pool, game room (definately looks like it is from the medival times), gift shop (sparse), and ping pong table (which is... more

A group of friends and I were looking around for a place to eat, party, and sleep during New Years Eve. We saw an ad for the Friar Tuck for $150pp for food, drinks, and room…not bad. Needless to say after I booked the place I decided for haha’s to get some reviews on the place and to my surprise... more

I recently visited the Friar Tuck Resort with a friend of mine. We have been to the Friar Tuck in the past and have always enjoyed ourselves. They have a variety of activities including indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, health club, Spa, lounge etc. and the price is reasonable and includes full course breakfast and dinner. The food is very good... more

I was recently married at the Friar Tuck. They had all the accommodations my wife and I were looking for in a venue. We had a beautiful ceremony in their private courtyard, followed by the reception in their main dinning room and hotel rooms were available for those guests who wanted to stay. The pricing was in the range we... more
