This may not qualify as timely travel advice. I only stayed at the Oliver Phelps once and that was 14 1/2 years ago. The experience was so pleasant, It changed the way I travel. I had never stayed in a B&B before. I preferred the standard amenities and predictable housekeeping of national hotel brands. I arrived in Canandaigua late in... More

My husband and I stayed in the Wickwood room, which is the one without the bathroom in the room. Our private bathroom was just outside our bedroom door and didn't detract from the stay one bit! We loved our room, especially the fire place. Jack and Donna are excellent hosts and the breakfasts were fantastic! Jack even drew me a... More

I have had the pleasure of staying at Oliver Phelps for two years in a row and cannot wait to book for next season. Jack and Donna, our lovely hosts are one of the most generous and delightful couple you could ever meet. I was there for a weekend away with the girls!!! The rooms, service and FOOD were extraordinary.... More

Jack and Donna were wonderful hosts, very friendly and helpful. The Oliver Phelps Suite was large, comfortable, very clean, and nicely decorated. We looked forward the daily gourmet breakfasts on the deck. Our hosts were very helpful with dining reservations, and suggestions for visiting local attractions. Our next visit to Canandaigua will certainly include the Bed and Breakfast at Oliver... More

Jack and Donna were wonderful, knowledgeable hosts for us. We wanted to road bike in the Canandaigua area. They provided us with great choices to bike along with route maps and suggestions for water and food along the way. The area is biking friendly with wide shoulders on most of the roads and not much traffic. The Oliver Phelps BB... More

We stayed for two nights in the Greencrest room and could not be more pleased with this b & b. The innkeepers were hospitable, relaxed, and attentive. We came to the area with little knowledge of the local wineries, but Jack had excellent suggestions that made for a perfect day out. Each day the breakfasts were delicious, especially the stuffed... Our first B & B. We traveled for a living and are now retired. Jack and Donna could not have made us feel more at home if we were family. The room and accomindations were outstanding. The breakfast was gourmet way beyond our expectations. Jack was spot on with his recommendations for his "things to do" in the area. We... More

Jack and Donna are very gracious hosts. We've stayed here for FLPAC concerts (Crosby, Stills & Nash; Moody Blues; and now Steely Dan). Jack always knows about the music and tries to have a pertinent CD playing in the background at breakfast. This year we are staying in the Suite. The house is great and has it's own history to...
