Extremely noisy due to the bar downstairs. The room was drafty and the heating system was very loud. The covers were thin and we shivered all night! The staff available for breakfast and checkout in the morning was friendly, but really didn't seem to know how to run credit cards through the system. Lack of a headboard in the room... more

We arrived, after calling to confirm our arrival time, to find a cold room. We called and the owner of the hotel arrived quickly and turned on the heat. We realized there was not a blanket on our bed and again the owner found us one thin, stained blanket and later returned with another unimpressive coverlet. The owner has done... more

We went to the Cambridge Inn to get together with some good friends. The seven of us met in Ithaca last year, and we were looking for a less exensive option. The hotel was clean and comfortable -- we did have window shades. Our room (Rhapsody in Blue) was more spacious than the others, so we met there for cocktails... more

The food and service were over and above expectations. The outside was littered with old cigarette butts, very unwelcoming. Our room had large windows with no shades for privacy. Only lace panels with a valance. Guests were sitting outside on the porch and could see directly into our room. Had to improvise with the bathroom towels. The housekeeping service was... more

Every stay has been enjoyable. The staff is friendly and helpful, the variously decorated rooms are clean and appealing, the food is excellent, and the rocking chairs on the long porches are particularly inviting on warm summer nights. more

What we expected: fine old hotel with comfortable room, great bed, functioning air-conditioning, wonderful ceiling fan, and large bathroom (keep in mind no two rooms are alike--ours was Rm 111). What disappointed us was little things . . . only one maid for room clean-up and so it wasn't until 2:30 that our room was reached; one morning the continental... more

Service was warm and friendly, in large part because a local family has purchased the renovated hotel and is trying to make a go of it. The room was spacious and well-furnished and quiet. A local farmer's market on Sunday at the nearby depot brings in beautiful produce and unusual vendors. The owners are trying to promote other cycling, running... more

On the first morning, we all (including my 3 yr old son) woke up at 6:30am because there were no shades on the windows that face east. I alerted the hotel management of the situation that morning. They did not install new shades while we were out all day and night, nor did they ask us if we would like... more

What a great hotel in a great town. Special restaurant and a happy hour to boot. We loved it and will return. Nice jumping off point for other visits in the area. Be sure to check out the artisans gallery and coop in town. more

The Cambridge hotel offers lovely rooms furnished with semi-antique pieces and fine dining in the evenings. The Continental breakfast of cold cereal and toast is disappointing, however. The price of an overnight stay would be justifiable if this hotel were in a large urban center. Given its actual location, it is not. more
