Overall the Sagamore Resort in Lake Geoge is a great family place. However, the rooms are very small and very expensive. Don't stay at the Lodge's. They are too far from main hotel and very very outdated.

So sad that even at these prices you can't find a relaxing, quiet place to enjoy a meal or drink. Families with more money than good sense have kidnapped this former luxury spot and turned it into a circus. If 3 year-olds with PDAs and parents imitating turkeys and removing their clothing in the public bar is your idea of... More

The Sagamore Hotel has a beautiful setting on Lake George. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room, which was not in the main lodge, was clean and very large, with a living room, large bathroom, and kitchenette. The entrance to the room was down a lengthy staircase which was not inviting. The golf course is a Donald Ross course... More

Less impressive than its photograph, this lake resort caters mainly to outdoorsy famiies with children, unaffected by the overpriced rooms. The food is fine and reasonably priced (Bella Vista, Pavilion ) although not a destination for foodies. If you are sans garcons, you’ll discover that it is not as upscale as you expected, the reason why Herod was called the... More

We have watched this "grand" old hotel move into 2011 over the last 3 years. We loved her in her "old" stateliness, but ADORE what she has become...she is truly a 5 star resort with a fulll history and new amenities to keep her where she is for years to come!! This was out 7th summer at the Sagamore!!

My daughter was married in Bolton Landing on July 29th 2011. We had her celebration at the Sagamore and were also guests of the hotel for 3 nights. The people working at the Sagamore did their absolute best to ensure that everything was in its place at the right time. They worked very well with the necessary outside vendors to... More

This area is beautiful. The Sagamore offers up scale service and accommodations. There are many room types, so be specific. Lots of multigenerational families vacationing here. A little something for everyone.

We recently had the extreme pleasure of having our daughters wedding and reception at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing, NY. It was AMAZING!!!! Everything was completely perfect - our guests are also raving about it - everyone had a wonderful time. The setting of The Sagamore speaks for itself, but to have the added benefit of everything being so completely... More

We had a very nice anniversary get away here. The service and rooms were lovely. It was just a bit pricey.

My husband and I stayed in a lodge at the Sagamore three weeks ago, and loved everything about our visit. The restaurants, the facilities, and the room were all terrific, and the views of Lake George cannot be beat! Make sure you take the lake cruise compliments of the hotel- breathtaking!

of all the asinine reviews of this hotel this one takes the cake! are these people well educated worldly travelers or what???? the idea that you would ask the waiter at the conclusion of the meal for as many as 12 people to divide the checks into 10 different checks (or whatever it was) is SIMPLY PREPOSTEROUS AND A MAJOR FAUX-PAS in a restaurant. that kind of nonsense or ridiculous behavior is simply NOT DONE! if you know that you are going with a large party to a restaurant then you ALWAYS decide ahead of time who is paying the bill ON ONE CARD!!! and then divide it up later outside the restaurant. thats the way it is done and always done that way. these idiots or hillbillys who dined here (madelaine c) and wrote that horribly inappropriate review did nothing but to reveal their stupidity at what is know as common practice in any fine restaurant in the world! does this woman really think that the waiter has the time (in a busy place yet) to site down and divide up the bills per couple with that many different couples at the table. its simply never done---in my life i have seen that done unless some special circumstances are discussed the management of the restaurant ahead of time....and even then no one that we have ever traveled with have been stupid enough to make this kind of a request. the restaurant was acting just the way they should have been here and i am sure that the delay was engendered by the fact that no one b4 in such a large party had ever insisted on this kind of nonsensical dividing up of a huge bill into such tiny little pieces!!!!! the waiter should have returned to the table promptly and told this (from hicks-ville) party that the restaurants policy was never to do this....and personally the people sitting at that table should have all known that---if they went to school and have ever eaten out b4.
