This trip is something I look forward to every year. It is a special occasion despite every the fact we're repeating the same activities every year. The meals are great, the staff is friendly and the accommodations are top notch. I recommend climbing Blue Mountain and taking a boat to the islands on Blue Mountain Lake.

I stayed at The Hedges while on an escorted tour of the Adirondacks. The Duxbury, which four of us shared for one night, is a quaint two story cottage. The interior shows signs of age but is clean. The quaint cabin would be extraordinarily appealing with the completion of a few basic maintenance tasks. Dinner and breakfast were highlights of... More

Great location and a charming old "camp." The owner (Pat Benton) has really made this a special place. It's hard to describe, but it just feels "right" in every way. If you are looking for an authentic Adirondack experience, this is it.

We loved our stay here and only wished that we had allowed another day to have stayed and enjoyed more of the outdoor activities (canoeing, kayaking, etc.) that they have available. Our room was beautiful, with a lovely view of the lake. Dinner and breakfast, which were included in the price, were fantastic.

We found The Hedges almost by accident last year during leaf season; they had a cabin that fit our family and we got a fairly last-minute reservation. We had no idea what a delight it would be. We came back again this fall - again, getting a cabin (for a larger number of people) about three weeks out because of... More

A trip back in time to the great camps of yesteryear. You can be as active as you want to be, playing tennis, biking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, playing horseshoes, swimming etc. or kicking back doing nothing. It's up to you. The owner and her staff will accommodate any request that they can. Either way, you will leave with a feeling of... More

We just returned from our 13th visit to The Hedges. We first tried The Hedges in 2001 after being shut out of Hemlock Hall across the lake for one too many times. The change was to our extreme benefit. As the years have progressed, Pat Benton has transformed The Hedges into an authentic Adirondack great camp, while retaining the friendly... More

Great location, right on Blue Mountain Lake. Lot's of common areas with seating, fireplaces, tables for card playing or puzzles made it very relaxing. Many Adirondack chairs by the lake to relax or strum your guitar. Great hiking nearby. Breakfast and dinner is included and was first rate. Staff was pleasant and friendly. They had plenty of kayaks and canoes,... More

We spent two magical nights and days at The Hedges. What an amazing place! This was a splurge for us, but we wanted to stay at this historic Great Camp (built by industrialist and Civil War General Hiram Duryea) located on beautiful Blue Mountain Lake. What we hadn't realized ahead of time was just how incredibly much we would get... More

A very laid back place with excellent caring service. The rooms vary a bit but this time we had a pretty modern room. The setting and vibe is really great with everyone loving being there. Emma in the dining room was delightful as always. Francie is a great owner and host. Really a warm atmosphere and certainly much nicer room... More
