We were lucky enough to stay in one of the newly renovated rooms and I have to say how very beautiful it was. Everything we could have possibly needed or wanted was within reach. This hotel is cozy and nice. I stayed in a penthouse suite. The rooms are nice and large. The people at the front desk were nice too! The fitness facility for this hotel doubles as a membership club. It is multiple steps up from the typical hotel fitness facility (space somewhere with two machines, no natural light, ... just enough to allow checking the box for "yes, a fitness facility.") This is not the best hotel I've stayed, but it's not the worst. But it's close to the bottom. Signs everywhere proclaim that a renovation is happening, as well as changing to a Doubletree. The renovation/change can't come fast enough. I have stayed at another hotel that was in the middle of a change and it wasn't a pleasant experience... More

The food was excellent along with the service. They could have had one more person at the carving station to help out though. The band was excellent (Splash). The open bar was limited but was ample enough. The room was clean and comfortable and the brunch was very good the next morning. We all had and excellent time.

I realize the selection of food at a buffet has a lot to do with the organizers, but having no food on the buffet has to do with the facility.
