Sounds like Alejandro works for the "new company". Yes the rooms have been updated but still are your basic(very basic) accommodations. I think the rooms should be priced no higher than $79.00/night. I stayed at Overlook Lodge this past weekend for the Romantic Gateway Weekend, and I have to say that I would definitely recommend this hotel along with coming back again. The Overlook Lodge has lately been advertising their Sunday Brunch. Great drive up to the Lodge - I'm local (Stony Point), and the whole area of Bear Mountain is highly recommended for leaf peeping and overall good country atmosphere. The setting for the brunch is fantastic, the great room in the Lodge offers viewing deck with tables and breaktaking view.... more

The rooms were old and dirty (so dirty, we questioned whether the hotel had cleaned it before we arrived). The bathroom was unsanitary. The shower was black at the bottom and we even saw hair in it.....DISGUSTING! There was no shower curtain liner, basically there was a sheet for a shower curtain and when you took a shower, it flooded... more
I apologize that you were unhappy with your stay with us; we are undergoing major renovations to both the Overlook Lodge and Stone Cottages. Once the renovations are complete the Stone Cottages will feature new bedding, upgraded bathrooms and new hospitality center in the great room with a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator.
We stayed in one of the stone lodges belonging to the Overlook Lodge, I believe there are 4 or 5 lodges with 6 room to each. We only paid 99.00 for the night so we were not expecting much and we were right. The room was old and worn, stains on the carpet and no screens. Besides the 6 rooms... more

The front desk staff takes customer service to new heights, from the time you check in to the you check out. The views of the Hudson River are just breathtaking from the lobby and are room. I can’t wait to return to stay in one of the new remolded rooms. more
Hardly acknowledged when we arrived, rooms adequate but like 1960 motel. No coffee making facilities, no doors on wardrobe and wires drapped across. Very small television. Breakfast served in plastic plates. Would not stay again. more
We went up for the Valentines overnight package....1st off we were able to check in much earlier than normal which meant we could unpack unwind and relax a bit. 2nd our room was fine,typical hotel room but fine.3rd our dinner was excellent and only exceeded by the wait staff.
