What a bliss to arrive in Planet Baobab after traversing Botswana's dusty roads: warm welcome, fun signs, a pool! (yes, a pool in the desert), great campsite with braai, fireplace and lapa for each stand, clean and spacious ablutions, funky bar, beautiful buildings in African hut style with loving decorations, great music but the best of all are the staff.... After 10 days spent on safari deep in Botswana's wilderness, arriving at Planet Baobab with its well stocked bar and inviting swimming pool, was a fantastic feeling. The site itself is really nice, lots of shade, nicely designed and staff that couldn't do more to help you. We ate in the restaurant for dinner on one night and the food... More

We didn't stay at the accomodation ... we just visited the site to see the magnificent Baobabs. What a delightful venue ... these ancient trees have such a special character about them, and the setting is beautiful. The bar area is filled with unique artefacts, the sparkling pool is inviting and the ablution block was spotlessly clean. If you are... More

I have just returned from a 2-night stay at Planet Baobab, and I am already planning my next trip there, and I will be bringing friends and family with me. The whole camp, from the rooms, swimming pool and bar just ooze soul. It's the type of place that you just want to stay longer. Situated in the barren area... More

We have stayed at this site several times. The camping sites have limited shade but well maintained ablutions. there is no water points at the camping site itself and water is only available from the washing up facility near the ablution blocks. We were disappointed that this year during the festive season day visitors were allowed to use the facilities... More

We have used this as a stopover between Johannesburg & Maun on many occasions and we have never been disappointed, the bar is full of character and this time round we stayed in the "baobab huts" which although the bedroom section is slightly smaller than the Bakalanga Huts the shower and loo are accessed via a back door and open... The lodge is set among the boababs and that in itself makes the scenery spectacular. Huge campsites with a permanent thached gazebo/pavillion (afdak vir die boere) for shade. Electricity and lights, decent braai area and fire pit. Ablutions are adequate and clean with plenty of hot water. The pool is half covered with a thached roof which made it a... More

It is a beautiful place with a great swimming pool, but the camping ground was not suitable when it was raining it was flooded. It was very hard ground and there was no lighting around the camping area and I was looking nearly 10 minutes at night to find my tent. Some of the staff so unpleasant and unwelcoming and... More

Planet Baobab is great. The place is surrounded by many baobab trees. The bar is cozy and the interior is nice. I could sit there for hours in a hot day. A swimming pool is also available. Good place to stop for camping. Cottage rooms are also available. The annoying part is the internet. It was too slow.

I really enjoyed my stay here, the camp site was spacious with plenty of shade, the pool was large and clean with both sun and shaded parts. The bathrooms were really lovely with a large changing area, powerful showers, plenty of sinks and mirrors - some of my favorites in Africa. The Baobab trees in the grounds are spectacular and...
