I stopped here as part of a tour - our guide had been talking the place up for the last few days as one of his favourite camp spots. I can see why. Firstly the showers - if you are using communal showers for an extended amount of time these are very important - were great. Big open air showers... More

Very nicely located among very big and old baobab trees. Nice chalet-type rooms with all comforts. Modern construction, imitating somehow African style. Restaurant service very slow for dinner, they need a long time to prepare the dishes. This is the only negative point. Food is excellent at the end, same as for breakfast. Excellent stop-over on the way to Maun... More

We spent 2 fun nights at Planet Baobab. The facilities are wonderful - comfortable chalets, relaxed bar and pool area. The restaurant food was good. The atmosphere is quirky and fun - beer bottle chandeliers and giant Baobabs. The staff were friendly and helpful. We hadn't realized the chalets had no barbeque facilities but the staff directed us to the... More

We stayed at Planet Baobab twice during our visit. First as a stop over on the way to Maun. Even though Maun is 2 hour drive we didn't fancy driving in the dark so looked to see if they had rooms. Luckliy they had a cancellation on one of the en suite huts. These were lovely. Nice and airy and... More

Lovely Campsite - decent facilities, wonderful bar area and really great food. The campsite is really lovely to wander around with huge baobab trees scattered throughout the grounds; the pool is a great place to spend a couple of hours drinking/reading/swimming; and there are a couple of hammocks to chill in scattered around as well. We had a great evening... More

We camped at planet Baobab on 11 July 2015 and what a lovely experience. Well organized campsites, unique, creative and clean ablutions and professional staff. Definitely a place where one could spend more time.

I came to Planet Baobab to visit the Nxai Pan and Makgadikgadi Pans, as most people probably do. Without your own tranport, it is a little difficult to get to. If coming from Francistown or Maun, get off the public bus at Gweta and hope for a lift (there are no taxis when you get off as I found) or... More

We only stayed at PB for one night, mainly so that we could take the salt pans and meerkats expedition the following morning. Yes, PB is a bit on the rustic side, but the staff was friendly and the rooms were clean, and the location among the baobab trees was great. To boot, the expedition was really enjoyable. Robert, our... More

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2015

Unfortunately the day we arrived it was pouring with rain and had been so for the 4 days prior. This meant that a two hour return trip to the Pans was now a 8 hour return trip which meant we did not have time so unfortunately we were unable to view the Pans which was the reason we stopped here.... We camped at Planet Boabab for two nights after only expecting to stay for a night. We had planned to drive to Kubu Island but chose the wrong road South from Gweta via Zorogo. It was extremely wet and we ended up having to dig out our vehicle for more than two hours. It meant that daylight was running out,... More
