We stayed in a family Chalet for one night en route to the Nxai Pans . I wished we could have stayed longer. Upon arrival, our party of 10 were required to pre-book their food for that evening from a relatively small menu. Being fussy myself, and having a fussy teenager, I must confess that alarm bells started to ring!... More

In truth I didn't actually stay the night at Planet Baobab, as I went on their overnight trip to the salt pans and slept on a bed roll 'under the stars'. But I did get use of one of the rooms for a shower afterwards, and it looked really cool! The site is quite interesting with lots of iconic looking... More

This place might be ok for campers wishing to be in a safe place for the night but the rooms are so hot even in the spring they would be like an oven in summer! We only had a large fan which made so much noise and did not reach both concrete based beds. I hate to give a bad... More

We've been travelling in southern Africa for over four months and stayed at over 60 campsites, Planet Baobab certainly has an edge. The sites themselves are huge and private with shade and power, the bathrooms are lovely, the bar is fantastic and they are strong contenders for the best pool in southern Africa, it's awesome!

OK, the rooms here are in need of an update - the bathrooms in particular. But they are set in a very nice area, with many big - yes, you guessed it right - baobab trees. What's more, the restaurant/bar area is really comfy and close to the nice pool. The main attraction is the overnight stay in the salt... More

Some friends and I stayed there 1 night on the way from Maun back to Gabs. We paid about 250 USD which included ATV drive through the salt pans, visiting a meerkat colony, camping in the salt pans, dinner at camp, and breakfast at the lodge the next morning. The additional part we paid for was alcohol and bottled water,... More

We stayed here for one night in Feb 2014 as part of a G Adventure 54 day overland trip. Planet Baobab Resort is set in a grove of baobab trees, with open air bathrooms and showers, a large concrete pool, and an airy thatched roof bar with tall ceilings, beer bottle chandeliers, vintage posters and skin covered metal (60's- style)... Nice campground surrounded by tons of baobabs which are nicely lit up at night. Bathroom facilities are open air and plentiful. One of the showers overflowed while we were there but it wasn't a big deal. Water was warm which was a pleasant surprise. Pool was beautiful and the perfect place to lounge through a hot afternoon. Campsites also have... More

Camping among baobab trees was un unforgetable experience. Hornbills were flying around the camp and the lanterns leading the way to the restaurant at night were lovely. We did the Ntwetwe Pan expedition which includes a visit to the meerkats which you see very close. We did it by quad bikes and everyone loved it including our 4 and 6... More

We loved the rooms of the 'hotel' and the trip to sleep under the stars on the Makgadikgadi Pan. Arriving at Planet Baobab and being greeted by Grace was akin to being welcomed home by a warm and beloved aunt. Our guide on the pan was interesting and informative and made a mean steak! We would recommend this experience to... More
