We have been to a number of Safari lodges over the years but Muchenje will stand out for a number of reasons. The view from the main lodge and our room was quite spectacular, looking down the escarpment over the Chobe river across to Namibia. The amount of game we saw on our game watching tdrives and boating excursions, herds of... More

We stayed here two nights in Oct. This is a nice, comfortable lodge, good food, great bar, slightly small but good rooms with great views over the Chobe River to Namibia. We enjoyed the host and hostess, and BG, our guide was very good. They picked us up at Kasane airport and on return, dropped us off there and stayed... More

This was our third stop in Botswana after spending six days in the Delta. The lodge is situated on an ideal viewing location. I spent our first morning on our deck watching the sun rise as a large herd of Cape Buffalo crossed in front of our room - truly amazing! The management went to great lengths to accomodate us... What a place. Muchenje lived up to everything I was hoping for. We stayed for 4 nights at the beginning of October. Yes it is hot. However, if management were to put aircon in the rooms it would take away the experience of listening to the animals during the night. The main reason for staying here is to experience the... More

We stayed in some great places in Africa and this wasn't one of them. What was good - the guides did a great job and we saw lots of game. They were really nice guys and very professional. The view over the valley was good too. And the food was plain but tasty. The lodge is old and really needs... More

October is our hottest time of year and yes it is 'hot', even at night but all our rooms have overhead fans, screens on the windows and new double screened doors so with these open the ventilation is good. We do not believe in air conditioning so if you cant live without it then Muchenje is not for you! I... More

We had a wonderful time at Muchenje. The lodge is in the most beautiful location we have ever stayed in. Lips was a great safari guide with excellent knowledge of all the animals. We also went on a night safari with Prestley, who was also exceedingly impressive. The morning game walk with JJ was also amazing. Although we were not... More

I was impressed with Muchenje. Although it costs more than other places we stayed, it was nicer. For one thing, the game vehicles were less crowded. For our first drive, we were in a group of 4. And another vehicle had a group of 5 and they did not put us together like a lot of places would have. We... More

My husband and I found this to be a wonderful safari experience. When we got to Muchenje, we were drawn to the beautiful location. Thatched cabins overlook the Chobe River. You can sit on your balcony and see wildlife down by the river on the Botswana side and hear the bells of the cattle on the Namibian side. The sunsets... More

The guides here are excellent, we learnt so much about animals. The lodge is right on the edge of the Chobe National Park, where we saw heards of elephants, zebras, giraffes.... If you're looking for big cats it might be beter to spend a couple of days in another lodge as well, as we only glimpsed the occasional lion &... More

I stayed here with my family for 2 nights as my first experience on an African Safari. The resort is wonderful, staff are friendly and knowledgable, food was good and the views from the resort are fantastic. Even on the 1 hour drive from Kansane Airport to the resort we managed to get close up to Elephant and Giraffe as... More
