On a trip that included four lodges along the Mamibi/Botwswana border this was the highlight. Best rooms? – no we had been in more comfortable. Space in the communal areas? No there had been more luxurious. Cost? There had been cheaper. Location, beautiful. Food and service – varied and personal. Game drives and location – without fault. Out lime here... more

This was my first introduction to an African safari and I could not have been happier that it was at Muchenje Lodge. The spectacular location, friendly staff, excellent guides and general organisation and running of the lodge was faultless. This is a lodge in Africa designed so you can see as much wildlife as possible during your stay and that... more

I loved the Muchenje Lodge. It was the only place we stayed in Botswana that was on a hill with a view (of the Chobe River and the floodplain.) The hosts were gracious and welcoming. The guides were fun and informative. The game drives were rewarding - we saw so many elephants and giraffes that we became quite blase about... more

Without doubt the best concentration of animals viewed during four weeks of travel, in 6 different countries. Chobe is not to be missed if travelling in July. Our guides from Muchenje Lodge, collected 9 of us from Kasane Airport and what a novelty to be back on tarmac (for the bulk of the drive); a one hour journey. We were... more

Upon arrival at Muchenje, we were stunned by the gorgeous view, high atop the landscape below. The welcome by Kathy and gracious service the entire time made the stay fantastic. She never lets an empty glass stay empty. You can have anything you want at any time. Rooms were very nice. Food was excellent, and the evening meals with all... more

Thank you for the great hospitality at Muchenje Lodge! We, my parents and I enjoyed your full week stay at the nieces place in Botswana. 10 Years ago we stayed in the same Lodge, but there only for 3 days – for us it was too short, therefore we decided to stay this time a little bit longer. And I... more

Our Africa trip booked through AAC was even more enhanced by our short stay @ Muchenje. The rooms though small are very comfortable and the views from the decks and throughout the main lodge are incomparable. The common areas, fire pit, pool, dining room, bar and main lodge were the best of our entire trip and Rod & Cathy are... more

We booked Muchenje because it was recommended by Patricia at the internet based travel booking site, Island Safari. Muchenje is a luxurious safari lodge where you stay in individual thatched huts similar on the outside to those you see in local villages, however completely luxurious inside, with netted beds, a large bathroom, hairdryer, toiletries, mosquito repellant provided, etc. All meals... more

We stayed at Muchenje for 4 nights in November 2008 and highly recommend it. The positives have been spelled out by other reviewers who obviously enjoyed Muchenje as much as we did! We found that Muchenje was much more personal than other game lodges. The staff are attentive and very friendly - always smiling. The game drives were fantastic -... more

We stayed at Muchenje for 2 nights at the beginning of a 10-day Botswana Safari, arranged through Island Safaris. Muchenje is beautifully situated high on a bluff overlooking the river. The striking open-air common area (lounge area, bar, and dining room) has a stunning view, particularly at sunset. Accommodations are in separate bungalows arranged on the bluff to either side... more
