thankfully, given the rates, this lodge lived up to expectations. The tents, service, waterhole and food were all exceptional. It should be noted, however, that the bush around Savuti Elephant Camp is mostly very dry mopani so do not expect the diversity or density of game you would see at Chobe waterfront or in the delta. Nice contrast however.

this is the place to go to sleep in a tent,A/C at that, and enjoy annimals outside you front door. you are protected from them but you can sit on your porch and hear the sounds of Africa. We watched painted dogs chase impalas on our porch. we had an excellent guide,Mighty, who found all the animals we wanted to see... More

If you want to visit Africa and see game but like some luxury then this is the place for you. Accommodation, facilities and food are all top quality but the biggest benefits are the quantity of game and quality of the guides. Except for rhino we saw almost everything else, hundreds of elephants, thousands of buffalo etc etc but the... More

Savute Elephant Camp was the first lodge during our first 8 days safari in Botswana. We stayed for three nights and we are very happy for choosing this lodge to begin our safari in Botswana. All the staff were very kind and available for all we needed. The Lodge, belonging to the Orient-Express company, has high level managing and we... More

Stayed for 4 night mid-Nov.-food much better than i had expected-saw lots of animals-airconditioning much needed!!!! Only negative is that it is very close to Maun and lots of other tourists there. Every leopard or lion sighted was immediately surrounded by 5-15 cars, vans and SUV's. If going to Botswana for first time this is well worth including in your... More

Savute Elephant Camp was a great experience, from the setting, to the wide variety of animals, the staff and the guides. Upon arrival the staff is out front greeting you and from then on its personal service until you leave. Our guide was outstanding and knew where the animals were, what they were doing, and where they were going. One... More

As I showered in our outdoor shower, I watched elephants go by to also shower and drink from the Savute Channel, where else could you see this? This was just the beginning of what we would see here, our guide was great, he tracked a lion pride stalking wart hogs (they missed), we discovered lion's devouring a recent elephant kill, leopards... The experience of two nights at Savute Elephant Camp can't be beat. The staff is wonderful and the game drives unbelievable. The "tents" are spacious, well equpped and air conditioned. There is even an outdoor shower that affords fabulous views.

On arrival at the tiny Savuti Airstrip we were met by our guide to be (Mighty) and transported on roads of deep sand to the Savuti Elephant Camp in Chobe National Park, Botswana. Arrival arrangements went like clockwork and we were greeted by Baker and his wife, Vasco, the camp managers who explained the every-day routine to us and spoilt... More

Having been on a few Safari's in South Africa and Zambia, I had an idea of what I would see here but my expectations were greatly exceeded. Getting here was complicated - London to Johannesburg overnight, then to Livingstone in Zambia for a night by the Victoria Falls. Picked up by the Tour Operator and driven to the Zambia /... More
