Those have been 4 really exciting days on the bank of the Chobe river-an outstanding location in the Chobe National Park- outstanding in terms of the quality of the lodge, the extreme good service by everybody in that place ,outstanding the safari drives as well as the river cruises- we watched a lot of lions, of course not 60.000, but hundreds... We stayed here for 4 nights recently as a part of a safari holiday. Where else can you stay where there are resident warthogs and mongooses (mongeese?) wandering around the grounds? The rooms are quite lovely with African decor and more than adequate storage space. Bathrooms were very clean albeit on the small side. Food is generally buffet-style and quite... More

After two weeks of Cape Town, Krueger, Victoria Falls and an "under canvas" experience, we wrapped it up in luxury at the Chobe Game Lodge. It is a beautiful setting and the only lodge in Chobe National Park. It's also where Elizabeth Taylor was married (the second time). We enjoyed sitting on the deck with coffee and cocktails as we... Chobe is the only lodge inside theChobe Game reserve. Yes there are places to camp, but this is the only place with aircon happiness and a Liz Taylor suite. We stayed here at the beginning and end of a Botswana safari trip. The lodge picked us up at the most excellent Katsane airport. The hotel is to put it nicely,... More

My first arriival in Botswana was the Chobe Game Lodge. I wasn't sure at first since this was the largest place we stayed (being an actual hotel) but it was not disappointing at all. Being located in the park is a great advantage since you start seeing animals the second you leave the hotel grounds. The rooms were nicely furnished,... More

I stayed at Chobe Game Lodge for 2 nights and was taken in by the wonderful and family, friendly hospitality of all staff. Loved seeing smiles on everyone's faces! Enjoyed the game Drives by the women Guides/Drivers - so professional and well educated. We had such fun finding the animals and just quietly sitting and becoming part of their world.... More

This was by far and away the best hotel we stayed at in Africa. Again, staff were lovely, room was beautiful, food delicious, but the safari was awesome! Highly recommend. We travelled here in May 2009 More

The hotel, located within the Chobe game park, overlooks the Chobe River, and is built in a style which is entirely sympathetic with its surroundings. The staff at the hotel are excellent, and they all seem genuinely interested in ensuring that guests enjoy their stay. Safari rides are accompanied by driver guides, who are both efficient and very knowledgeable. The... More

Chobe was our last destination at the end of our two honeymoon through South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana and I wish it had been the first. Primarily, the lodge itself is beautiful and the rooms are beautiful with individual terraces that overlook the river. The service is impeccable and the food is varied and thoughtfully prepared and, for the most... More
