I stay here at least once a month as it is near our selenite quarry. They have upgraded it regularly, and quite a lot over the past few years. It is also the best place to stay and visit nearby Carlsbad Caverns.

Staying at the hotel gave us early access to the Caverns, and to Guadalupe Peak National Park. Rooms were average, walls were thin enough to follow conversations in the next rooms. Mostly other tourists. Only one dining option within 15 miles in the evening once the park is closed. It seemed expensive for the quality, but prices are up in... More

sad to say that all the hotel / motels in the area are gouging because of all the oil drilling going on, whites city was by far the least expensive at 118 per night ( others in town were raging from 140 on up) not much can be said about the room, not bad, not great, but peacefully quite and... I was totally blown away with this place. Wasn't expecting what we experienced. 3 of us for dinner. We love Mexican food, and not all Mexican is equal. Whites has excellent food. My steak ranked in the top two that I ever had, and was only $ 12.00. The other steak I had as good was $ 50.00. My wife's... More

We stayed at the Roadway Inn, White City because it was the closest hotel to the caverns (Carlsbad is 20 miles away) and the prices in Carlsbad were very high. I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was very clean and spacious. We had a microwave and a refrigerator which was a bonus. There is only one restaurant in the area... More

+ Really improved the rooms since we were here 5 years ago - the carpeting, tile, counters, etc. have all been replaced. - They should have replaced the pillows - these are not hotel quality pillows! By the first morning I woke up with a migraine headache. We had to drive into Carlsbad, NM to buy new pillows. + Staff... More

Large room, water park a plus because the hotel pool was not well maintained. Except for the pool, we were happy. Breakfast was not fancy but adequate the breakfast rolls were 4 dollar each at the cafe at the caverns.

Close to the Caverns, we were able to come and go to various Park activities without a lot of driving time. The water park with two big fun slides and a kiddie pool was a big plus. The regular pool was also pleasant and stayed open until 10 p.m. The staff was nice and the room was cool and quiet.... More

Good campsite but bad sleeping... too many glaring streetlights that keep the birds up all night... and me too. Next time I'll drive a little farther to camp. But if you must stay close to the national park, then tent or RV camping is fine. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Dirty, musty smelling, hard mattress. Those are just a few of the things wrong with this place. Apathetic management. Horrible restaurant. At least we think it is horrible. We waited forever to receive our food. Rude desk clerks. Next time, we stay in Carlsbad.
