The facilities on the campsite are basic but the view and the environment compensates this. When we were there just a few rock climbers were there, but we think that in peak moment of rock climbing the campsite can become noisy. So in the off season it is nice too walk in the area to the waterfall eand between the... More

It is a great place to get away from it all. We went there to boulder and rock climb and really enjoyed the walks. It is very safe and everybody is friendly and helpful. I will recommend it to my friends

Pakhuys is set in a beautiful location and kept neat & tidy at all times.Be careful however what you put in the communal fridges, as our coke disappeared in no time. Also, do not camp under the Eucalyptus trees, as large branches broke off on a windy day.

Thank you for the review, the wind was strong that day, but it normally is during winters storms in the whole of the western cape, nothing local or abnormal :) - we have started clearing potential loose branches from the trees as well. More

The cottage is furnished with old delapidated furniture and cutlery. The braai was "vetterig" and the paint in the shower cubicle "grillerig" while you stand ankle deep in your shower water.Fresh and old dog's poo all over the lawn. Building in desperate need for polyfilla and paint inside and outside.

Thank you for the feedback. The LAUGHENIS unit does not belong to de Pakhuys and we are assisting the owner who resides elsewhere. I have passed your comments on to the owner and gave him my input as well. We came to an agreement and the issues raised will be addressed as a matter of urgency. Thank you again, feedback... More

What a beautiful guest farm, a must to visit! Lovely people, fabulous service and the nature and specially the braai area a must to see. A little peace of heaven. So much to see and do, and great value!

Great view, nice cottage. Enjoyed the walks, scenery and the view from the cottage. We only 2 issues, shower did not work and rubbish wasn't collected on a daily basis, resulting in cats tearing the bags apart.

Thank you for the feedback. We sorted the shower - drain run out was very slow, but cleared it and no running like a freight train. It's always best to put garbage out in the morning, the cats are very busy at night, my apologies. More

The Waenhuys where we stayed was spacious and well equipped for self catering. The double bed was comfy and warm so I am sure the additional single bed was too. The bathroom has a decent shower and towels are provided. Thys was very friendly and helpful - a great host. There is a fireplace inside and a braai outside and... More

We recently stayed in Blokhuys at De Pakhuys. We got a very friendly welcome and a nice bottle of homegrown olives too! Magnificent views from the porch and all around us. Nice comfortable accommodation. Beautiful hiking trails and we enjoyed the hike up to the waterfall, we even took our 2 year old and he loved it! He had to... More

Great times and a nice site. The facilities (kitchen, fridge, showers, etc) were a great novelty as not used to that when camping. Thys was always available if any issues. During easter weekend the campsite got quite crowded with folks requesting specific sites which caused us to have to move our camp but not a big deal. Great time in... More

Best to book all available accommodation (family gatherings, etc) as you may end up staying next to the swimming pool (Waboom) with people sharing you privacy....and braai....Blokhuys overpriced, Riethuys not nice (no view, aircon, etc), Olienhuys best with nice view, private and spacious.
