Very friendly hosts, delightful B&B, comfotable beds. Home made breakfast. We needed the airco (34 degrees!) Wally and Joan arranged a restarurant because it was eastern. More

Both Wally and Joan are friendly and chatty but we saw more of Joan who is a very warm host, extremely helpful, and a very good cook.  It was Sunday, no restaurants open locally but we were offered a light supper of homemade pate, bread and salad for starter, stirfry beef and  mango for main, lemon thingy for dessert -... This is a delightful B&B on the edge of Clanwilliam but well situated for restaurants and shopping. The rooms are spacious and the ensuite bathrooms well appointed. The beds are particularly comfortable. The breakfast is all that could be wished for and sets one up for the rest of the day. Although on the edge of town it is secure... More

Saint du Barrys was recommended to us and we hav really enjoyed it. The family entire agreed this is very comfortable and friendly guest house. We could walk to the restaurant and feel safe. The breakfast is wonderful, and wth home-made jams! It is wonderful to sit in the garden in the shade of the big tree at evening time.... More

I find it very hard to describe the experience my family and I had during our stay. The searing heat and mosquitos coupled with the noisiest aircon units which blew about as much air as the equivalent of having someone blowing air at you through a straw made sleep entirely impossible. I would definately recommend this hotel for those who... More

Clanwilliam is the perfect base to explore the cedermountains. And the Saint Du Barrys is the perfect guesthouse to stay there. Among a huge fig tree, we found wonderful hosts, a nice cottage with perfect interior, an excellent breakfast and a grey parrot, named Ramius, which makes his comments to all guests. In spite of 42° C heat, our hosts... More

It is worth visiting Clanwilliam just to stay in Saint du Barrys. Which we did for 2 nights, original intention being walking in Cederberg. However 46 degrees heat kept us in the garden or in an airconditioned bedroom.Joan and Wally were exceptional hosts and the multilingual grey parrot provided wonderful entertainment.Yet another b&b to which we would love to return... We travelled on the Intercape coach from Cape Town and arrived at Clan William at approx. Midnight. We were met by our host and hostess and driven to their Guest house. We were invited to have some refreshments, but declined as we were ready for bed! Our host and hostess couldn't have been kinder during our stay, nothing was too... More

Stayed here as a convenient stopover travelling north to Namibia. Centrally located in Clanwilliam. Accomodation comprises a series of terraced chalets with thatched roofs open to the eaves internally. Surrounds a attractive courtyard and garden area with lovely old tree in the centre. The room we were allocated was in our view badly configured. It comprised the main double bedroom... More

Clanwilliam is one of the hottest place in the world in summertime. As such the air conditioning units in all our bedrooms and public rooms are designed to drop temperatures in rooms quickly and quietly. All units a re new and serviced regularly. In winter - August being winter- all units are set as heaters. We have overhead fans and... More
