The staff at Tswalu is wonderful. We loved our guide and tracker and the waitstaff and housekeeping staff made us feel very welcome. Tswalu felt like home. The cuisine is very enjoyable when one considers the remoteness of the location. We are wine people and found the list of wines that were included with the rate exceeded in quality the... More

There are many lodges and many opportunities to see game in Africa, but few, if any, can rival Tswalu. You are treated as an individual in everything, be it your dedicated guide and vehicle, your choice of what to look for and when, and meals when you want them. The houses are first class and the food is outstanding, even... More

Our second visit and just as wonderful as the first. The lodges are excellent and the staff can not do enough for you. We found the food could be a little "fussy" but the chef, Mandy, asked us each morning what we would like to eat and actually did for us one evening egg and chips as well as "bangers... More

We have just returned from four nights at Tswalu. This is a very special place in the most beautiful savannah of The Kalahari. We saw the most incredible wildlife and as the area is so vast each sighting we had was our own personal experience, unlike many other reserves where you are never far from other vehicles. Our guide, J.P.... More

We started our 4 week African Safari at Tswalu. I am thankful that our booking agent suggested this wonderful lodge and the Kalahari Desert to explore. This being our first trip to Africa, I decided not to hurry, to take time at each lodge/camp to get to know the area, the staff, our guides and have a sense of the... More

We have been going on safari for 15 years and this is by the far the most expensive lodge we have stayed at. So, accordingly we expected to be wowed . The only difference with this lodge from the others we have been is that you can drink unlimited alcohol. Yes, the accommodation is beautiful but no better than any... More

This was the second visit for my wife and I and having enjoyed it so much earlier in 2014 we took my Sister-in-law along. Anxious to see the newly released pack of wild dog we headed far south on the first morning to find them (that makes it sound too easy) on a fresh kill which was perfect as they... More

From the moment you land in the Kalahari Desert at the Oppenheimer Family owned airstrip, there is magic in the air. Spending time at this reserve is a unique safari experience in which tracking the animals and learning more about indigenous species is a speciality of the guides. Staying at Tarkuni, a private villa at Tswalu is the ultimate indulgence.... More

Tswalu represents the best that (South) African hospitality can offer, and I consider myself lucky to have visited this place. The remoteness and beauty of the natural environment, and the extraordinary lodge make for an unforgettable experience. I stayed for a total of 4 nights, and would recommend that one spend at least 3 nights at this lodge to enjoy... More
