Not many options in Vaughn, but we wanted to stop for the night, and TripAdvisor told us this was the finest place in town. Certainly not luxurious, but we were pleased with the room and thought the diner was terrific. Considering that work crews stay here, the accommodations were quiet, we didn't hear a peep all night. The clerk was... More

1st stop of a 2300 mile motorcycle ride. 500 miles from Denver. 2nd time staying at an Oak Tree Inn. clean room; sound-proof; free breakfast or a $8.00 credit if you don't want what is 'free'. pretty much nothing in Vaughn "fun-wise". no beer at "Penny's" diner. there is beer/wine at the gas station across the street. after 500 miles... The rooms are nice enough but lack extras, no extra pillows or blankets, coffee makers or hair dryers. The hotel provides Direct TV and Wi Fi (when it's working). There is an exercise room on the first floor and a weight room in the basement (which also serves as a locker room for the railroad employees who stay at the... More

Dear Guest, We apologize that the accomodations did not meet your expectations. While it is true that we have several rail road crew members who stay with us, it is our goal that all guests are treated with the same high quality service that is expected of our hotel and diner. We do ensure that we have staff available 24... More

Stayed one night last week. We were in Albuquerque and getting ready for a trip to Carlsbad Caverns. Wanting to shorten the 300 mile drive on Monday, we thought about driving part way on Sunday, late afternoon. Found the Oak Tree Inn online and, despite a couple of reservations, decided to give it a try. Well, it turned out to... More
