We have stayed here several times and the owners have become like family. Some people we have met because of the Blue Swallow are now friends of ours. We even had a "reunion" at the motel to see people we have met while staying there. Even if you haven't stayed there before, you will feel very welcome. The rooms are... More

On recommendation from a friend, my husband and I stayed at the Blue Swallow in the Lillian Redmond Suite. We were totally delighted with the entire motor court. I even bought a keychain and postcards for keepsakes! The bed was super comfy and the claw foot tub was awesome. Bath salts and handmade soap was a bonus. The lobby was... More

One of the best mom and pop motels ever, if not the best we've ever stayed in. Beds and bedding equate to the best hotels. Had a wonderful night's rest. Found this motel by chance, but if you are looking for a room to book before you leave home, put this one on your list! If you are traveling on... More

We have stayed at this motel twice and can not wait to go again. If you want a step back in time with great comfort and style this is the place to go. The owners Kevin and Nancy are very helpful and kind people. You will feel at home from the first step into the office. Beds and comfortable and... More

What a great place to stay on Route 66! We had a room with an adjoining garage - special. This is what travel used to be like. The rooms are small, but adequate. Much better than any modern hotel. This is a Route 66 icon. A rare travel court experience.

I have travelled extensively all of my life. I have owned a travel agency and recommended lodging for my clients. I have held top level loyalty accounts at two major hotel chains. This is the first time I have ever bought a T-Shirt (that I wear all of the time) or postcards to remember such a great experience. I was... More

Nostalgic Route 66 gem. Super comfortable beds. Great linens and towels. We arrived on a cold and snowy night so having the room all warm and lights on was a nice touch. Super friendly and helpful owners. Dinner at Dels also really good.

Such a cute spot! Quaint, clean rooms & Kevin was very accommodating during the booking. Served it's purpose of wary travelers needing to rest & my kids got a taste of Route 66. Comfy beds are all we really needed & we got those for sure! The larger rooms were booked but we got 2 next to each other for... More

Thanks for the review, and so glad you enjoyed your stay! Nancy has gone to great lengths to make sure our mattresses and bedding are the most comfortable you will find anywhere. Hope you will join us again, if your travels should bring you to Tucumcari again in the future. Happy Trails, Kevin More

We were traveling across country from Cincinnati, Ohio and the weather was a real concern for us since snow and freezing rain were forecast for much of our week of travel. We opted to swing north from our planned southern route to miss the snow and ice, and considered staying overnight in Tucumcari, New Mexico. I checked-in with Trip Advisor... More

We loved this old motor court. It was clean and warm and comfortable. The heater was a bit noisy when it kicked on and off but overall we enjoyed our stay. I'd like to stay there in the warmer months when we can sit outside and talk to those in the neighboring rooms. It was a fun place to stay... More

Glad you enjoyed your stay, and you are right, there is nothing quite like sitting out on a warm evening under the glow of the neon lights. Most people do find the occasional ticking of the gas furnaces a less obnoxious alternative to the blowing, noisy hot air of most other hotels. Thanks for staying with us! Kevin & Nancy More
