All of the wonderful things that other reviews report are true. We enjoyed a warm welcome, a great meal at Pow Wow and a good nights sleep. The bed, pillows and towels were so soft and plush. The shower was powerful and refreshing. Good things we were still waking up early, because the baby-boomer bikers two doors down wanted to... More

The Safari was one of the best places to stay on Route 66. Very friendly greeting on check-in, clean and comfortable rooms and great prices. The property is kept up well and it gives you a true feeling of what it was like to travel down Main Street America. I will be staying there again.

The best bed I have ever slept on in a motel! Thick big towels. Very clean. Great place to stay, friendly helpful staff. I would highly recommend. Only one complaint...no outlet by the mirror for blow drying and curling hair.

Such a lovely place... quiet, clean, well-furnished, welcoming staff. I've stayed here before, and I'll do it again! The only downfall is Tucumcari itself, which seems a little more decrepit each time I pass through. Lots of bargain hotels here, and the Safari is one of the best!

Love this place, stayed last year, so decided to stop again. Lovely lady on front desk. Rooms are amazing. Very comfy bed, amazingly white fluffy towels in bathroom. Had a great nights sleep. Free wifi, and big screen TV in room too. Shuttle bus to restaurant down the road. Feels like home from home

Stayed in the Wanda Jackson suite and it was amazing. The Motel Safari rivals some of the finest Hilton hotels I've stayed at with it's furnishings. Everything is new and updated yet it retains the nostalgic Route 66 charm. The suite was very spacious and leaves some VERY big shoes for other motor courts to fill! Motel Safari has set... More

This is an iconic Route 66 motel which is fun & quirky. Gail was so helpful, giving us lots of leaflets and information about the area. The room was very clean and large. The bed was lovely and the pillows so good! The shower was one of the best we have had so far on our trip. Gail also recommended... More

Motel is clean, with very comfortable beds. It is a quintessential motor court furnished in a classic 50's motif. Gail is very friendly and helpful and it is located across the street from the more iconic Blue Swallow Motel. It is a terrific bargain and a classic Route 66 experience. Would stay here again and recommend it to others.

If traveling on Route 66 through eastern NM and plan to stay in Tucumcari this is the place to stay. It is very clean inside and out. The owners are very personable, the rates are very reasonable and we love the retro look"
