This B&B has a fascinating history as one of the earliest tourist motels in Taos. However, unlike other motels-turned-B&Bs, at which I have stayed, the rooms have been delightfully decorated with southwestern art and artifacts, handpainted motifs around the windows, and talavera tile touches. The exterior is painted with bold colors and a cheery array of flowers, so that the... more

The Inn on the Rio was a great experience. Robert and Julie are delightful hosts. The price was reasonable and they had no problem or ungodly pet fee with our German Sheppard Harry. Breakfast was awesome. The rooms are cozy and the hot tub was great on the cool evenings. Within walking distance of anything you want to do. This... more

Robert & Julie are delightful innkeepers who attend to every need of their guests. The food is delightful, from Robert's homemade bread to Julie's wonderful variety of dishes for breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated in the New Mexico decor. My only concern is that others will see this review and make it harder for us to get... more

Great stay with very attentive hosts. Clean rooms that have been upgraded from the original 50's construction. Guests we met were all returnees, a great recommendation for any hotel or B&B. more

Very nice owners. Jules makes a great breakfast everyday! Location is close to old towne, but far enough to be quiet and cozy. Nice pool & hot tub. Liked the parking in front of our door. Very quaint and cozy. more

Nice place with personal service by owners. Breakfasts were very nice, but only available between 8 - 9 a.m. No flexibility for early risers. I had to be at workshops before 8 a.m. so could not get coffee or made ahead food of any kind (would have liked some day-old coffee cake in plastic wrap at least.) Wifi in room... more

We found that the casual surroundings, comfortable accomodations, and gracious hosts made our stay feel like a home away from home. The freshly prepared breakfasts were a joy to savor and our daily plans were easy with the capable help of Robert and Julie. We would stay here again on a future visit to Taos. more

Excellent B & B with emphasis on the Breakfast. Room itself was small and no frills, but unique. Convenient location to all there is to see and do in and around Taos. more

We stayed at Inn on the Rio over the Labor Day weekend and it was delightful, as always. Jules and Robert are so welcoming, the homemade breakfast is so convenient and tasty, the pool and hot tub never crowded and surrounded by beautiful gardens. It is true that the Inn is more of a restored 50s motor court but that... more
