My husband and I were looking for a place to stay to visit Taos with his mother for one night. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was because of it's EXCELLENT location to all the galleries, shops, restaurants and museams in Taos. We were also attending the wool festival and so this hotel was an excellent location... more

Perfect! The room was a little small, but quite charming and adequate for a one night stay. If staying longer, I would recommend a larger room. Our room was on the plaza. From reading the reviews here, I was expecting niose like New Orleans at Mardi Gras. Taos Plaza is quite the opposite. They roll the sidewalks up at 5... more

Helpful staff, terrific room overlooking the square, fabulous dining at Joseph's Table. We stayed two nights, visited the competition for dinner and were sorry we did. Good breakfast place next to the lobby with free Starbucks to get you going. No problem with internet access in the room. Might not be fun for kids but perfect for couples traveling without.... more

I cannot comment on the establishment itself because due to unforeseen itinerary changes, we were forced to cancel our reservation. Unlike some of the other reviews, I found that when I was able to contact someone with appropriate authority, they responded in a timely and professional manner and were more accomodating then they had to be. A hotel is more... more

I cannot believe that a historic establishment such as Hotel La Fonda in Taos is allowed to blatantly discriminate against pets and children in this day and age! It infuriates me that we were NOT allowed to stay at this hotel recently because we decided to take our 5 yr. old grandson in tow. Upon calling the hotel's front desk... more

The Hotel La Fonda de Taos is a small, historic, intimate property designed and constructed over 80 years ago. For the sake of our guests comfort, convenience, and tranquility we do not allow small children for obvious reasons. As for pets the same applies. We consider our property being smoke free as one of the hotel amenities.

My wife and daughter and I stayed at the La Fonda (room 201) which overlooks the plaza. The room was large and comfortable. You can open the windows and let the fresh air in. The gas fireplace is for looks only -- it does not put out heat, but it was nice to have anyway. The staff were friendly and... more

This is a charming hotel right on the square. It was an easy trip to the Taos ski mountain each morning from the hotel (though we did not experience any bad weather). Other reveiwers indicated that they had some problem with noise, which frankly I was prepared for but really did not have any issue with. The couple of issues... more

Yes, the location on the plaza is great! Yes, the little sitting areas on odd half floors are cute! But, believe me, you really don't want to hear that much of what the people in the next room are doing! You know the sound proofing is bad when they supply ear plugs along with the little soaps in the bathroom.... more

Nice stay at Hotel La Fonda de Taos. The location of this hotel is great, right on the plaza. Our room was nicely appointed, though rather small, but we were only staying one night, so wasn't a big deal. Didn't have much of a view though. Unless your room faces the plaza, it seems most of the rooms would lack... more

Beautiful ground floor, room 208 is right above the dining room-band stage.. Noise comes through the floor for several hours. The non-smoking area is groung level outside the window, the noise is rediculous. The matteress consists of apparently two box springs stacked together. The concrete floors have more give. This particular room does not live up to the described atmosphere. more
