We didn't have any reservations for Taos but found El Pueblo Lodge on Trip Advisor. The good reviews were helpful and we were not disappointed. It's very retro and kitchy, but that was fine. Greeted warmly when we got there. Warm cookies, yum! The room, while dark, was just fine. We had a suite, but didn't use the second room.... More

This hotel is conveniently located, closed to downtown with free parking, clean room and very comfortable beds. Great buffet breakfast. Friendly staff and services. Fresh-baked cookies and chips and salsa every afternoon is a plus.

My criteria to a good hotel/ motel room is...is it clean, does it smell, are the beds comfortable. Then is the staff friendly, are there nice surprises. This surpassed my expectations on all accounts. I loved the Pueblo style and feel. I sometimes get tired of the pampered Hampton Inns. This was a fun and nice change.

Loved this place! We booked one of the motor court rooms, but asked to move to the north building when there was too much road noise. The north building was built in the 60's and is a little more away from the very busy street. Great views of the mountain, and faces a residential neighborhood. Would recommend a second floor... This was my first visit to Taos. I typically stay in Hilton or Carlson properties. There are no Carlson properties in Taos and only one Hilton property (Hampton Inn & Suites). After reading TripAdvisor reviews, I came to the conclusion the Hampton would be an unfavorable selection. The El Pueblo Lodge is listed as number one in Taos and, after... More

One reviewer referred to El Pueblo Lodge as "a worn out motor lodge." Sure, El Pueblo is a vintage motor lodge - a Taos fixture - but that's part of its charm. It's not luxurious (and expensive) like some of its spa-hotel neighbors, but we were more interested comfort and proximity to town than in luxury. El Pueblo Lodge is... More

For my wife's birthday trip to Taos, NM we needed a centrally located accommodation that was also pet friendly. The El Pueblo was a perfect choice for us. They rented us a large king bedroom with a kitchenette and a sliding door to access their beautiful grounds. The room had Direct TV and the bed was very comfy. Oh yes,... More

We selected this place based on recommendations from Tripadvisor. We were arriving late in the afternoon and leaving early in the AM so we decided to give REL Pueblo a try. This is the first time that I can recall that the Tripadvisor rating was so far off. The facility is old and worn out. There is no elevator to... More

We have done extensive renovations over the last few years to keep our retro motor lodge updated and comfortable We take pride in our outstanding customer... More

We enjoy staying in restored and well kept vintage motels. This one ranks among the top we have stayed in. We stayed in the original section on the motel built in 1950. Our room had been completely renovated with new tile in the shower area and great retro blue & white tile in the sink area. The room was very... More

I loved this place from the large rooms to the common area. Very clean and the rooms were decorated nicely. I loved sitting on the chairs in front of our room and reading. The birds singing, the wind in the trees and other guests doing a lot of the same thing.
