I have been coming to the El Pueblo Lodge for many many years (almost 30) and it's location is really good (only 15min walk to downtown). The breakfast is -still- superb! And the breakfast staff very very friendly. Why 4 stars: the rooms, the whole place is in desperate need of TLC (tender loving care). New paint, new furniture, upkeep. My room (it had a kitchenette devoid of ANY cups, glasses, plates) was spacious. however, the connecting door to the next room was badly insulated: I heard the couple next door word-by-word (and they weren't loud). My room had a fire place and I loved it. Room service cleaned the fireplace. Very good! All said: loved that place but really don't see me taking my wife on a "romantic" getaway. Two guys on a ski-road trip? Yes. Couples looking for a little nice romantic weekend? Not so much (anymore).

This was a very nice motel with great atmosphere. Our room was huge, even a separate room with a closet, frig, micro and more storage, 2 night stands, giant TV, a table & chairs, desk and a very large bathroom. The beds were comfortable with colorful Mexican serapes & wood beamed ceilings. We had great salsa, chips and cookies on arrival. So good, we went back for more and that was dinner! The desk clerk was so nice and friendly. Breakfast was wonderful, we ate on the heated patio. We walked the grounds and they were inviting - several picnic areas, Frisbee golf and BBQs. It was so nice, I wish we had booked more nights.

Loved our stay. Breakfasts amazing. Enjoyed hot tub all 3 nights - great outlet for the kids. It is a year round hot tub, outdoors, about 10 ft long, great temperature. We were the only ones using it (Thanksgiving visit). Lots of thoughtful extras at the hotel (cookies in afternoons, complimentary tea, coffee, and hot chocolate all day). Room smelled great and very clean. Serene grounds. The breakfast area is very pleasant. We liked the enclosed patio area to linger in the mornings. Enough green space for kids to kick the soccer ball. The owners/staff do an excellent job maintaining this older property. It gets a lot of love and attention to detail. Decor is warm, comfortable, inviting. We spent lots of time in the breakfast area playing card games and enjoying the free hot chocolate/tea. Thank you to the owners and staff for an amazing stay!

El Pueblo Lodge is a hidden jewel. My room was very clean and comfortable. The lodge grounds was very family friendly and well maintained. The breakfast was probably the best I have ever had at any hotel and puts the breakfasts offered by major chain hotels to shame. Some of the breakfast offerings had a traditional southwest flair. You must try El Pueblo Lodge if you are in the Taos area.

In exchange for a very reasonable nightly rate, the El Pueblo Lodge provided us with: A clean, comfortable, quiet, and spacious room. Pleasant, well-maintained grounds. Friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary hot breakfasts in a pleasant, L-shaped enclosed porch that put the Hampton and Fairfield Inns of the world to shame... AND they knew about Celiac and were well-prepared to provide gluten-free options for my wife (including individually-wrapped slices of fresh, tasty, gluten-free bread... who does that?). A great stay from start to finish.

This was a small family stay together for Labor Day. We booked two rooms (four adults plus one four year old). The hotel is very clean and located very near downtown Taos. The rooms are large and comfortable with a Taos decoration. Our room has a fireplace that we did not get to use but will be remembered for a next trip. There is ample parking. The buffet breakfast is a feast with something for every taste. The staff was very courteous. There is a lovely clean smallish swimming pool that was a big success with all. We greatly appreciated the towels at the pool side. The setting was exceptionally nice. It is a large garden with beautiful trees. There were many lounging chairs under the trees. You can eat your breakfast outdoors looking at the garden. There is a gazebo with a large table that we used for picnics. All in all this was a very successful Labor Day and the hotel met our needs perfectly. Of course Taos is a very nice venue with much to do.

This is a motel in a lovely setting. Our room was spacious and functional but it is showing its age. It was not spotlessly clean with dust everywhere and it had a funny smell. The bed was comfortable, and the sheets were nice and soft. The buffet breakfast was plentiful with a great variety of both hot and cold items. Go for the bold coffee option if you like a good strong cup of coffee.

Overall, we had a good stay at the Pueblo Lodge. First and foremost, the breakfasts are *awesome*! The lodge was conveniently located and we were able to walk to the Plaza and restaurants. My one recommendation would be to avoid the Casita King, as the room was quite small, with no comfortable place to sit other than the bed and the patio (where I thought we'd hang out) faced the parking lot. When I wanted to read, I needed to go sit in the reception area. If we return, we'll ask for a bigger room.

Room was very big with a partial kitchen, fridge, microwave and sink along with a bar and 2 barstools. Theres also a nice table and fireplace. Full size sofa as well. There’s patio chairs by the front door in a little sitting area as well as chairs through sliding doors at the back. Room and bathroom were clean. This is an older lodge so in some ways it’s dated, but it’s been maintained. We were in the back section and had to drag our luggage over pea gravel which was a little rough, but we were very close to the walkway to breakfast area. One of the best free breakfasts we have ran across. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The patio did get a clear drape walk through as weather got cold so you could still sit there comfortably. They had a number of options for eggs including really good scrambled eggs, sausage/gravy, great buttermilk biscuits, a variety of fruit, yogurt, lots of bread type items, bacon, pre wrapper waffles that are easily heated up & loved the syrup sitting on top of toaster thing. Nice warm syrup. There was lots of other food items ..too many to list. The ladies working the buffet area did an awesome job of keeping all thing filled, cleaning and helping guest. Close to local areas. There’s a decent restaurant across the street. It was very quiet where we were. My only complaint is the shower head. It was either water sprays out wide or it goes wonky if you try to change it. Being short my hair got wet no matter what I tried to do or I was chasing the water around to wash my face. There’s also a big gazebo with picnic table and a barbecue pit.

The hotel had a superior breakfast with lots of choices. Also their homemade cookies were to die for. There was also complimentary salsa and chips. Room was quiet and clean. Breakfast staff was very attentive. Do things old school way with keys. You can fill your water bottle any time with cold filtered water.
