Our first mistake was to ask a deadbeat cousin to recommend an inexpensive motel in Socorro. The Econo Lodge room was dank, depressing and smelled of mildew. We were too tired to look elsewhere and spent an itchy sleepless night in an uncomfortable bed. Sleeping in the car would have been a better alternative! more

This motel was a real disappointment. When I made my reservation, I was told one rate, and when I called back to confirm a week before our arrival, the rate had gone up $5/night.
