My husband and I grew up in the Limpopo Region and have been on many safaris previously. So when we decided to go on safari for our honeymoon we researched it thoroughly to make sure that we found a place that was really something special and out of the ordinary. We used Tripadvisor as a vital research tool to find... More

Although I have not been to this specific "camp" I read with incredulity a review about 'breathing cold air" in the tent, and getting a heater. It IS a tent! That is what a Safari camp is for goodness sake! We have been to Makalali twice - the twice says it all. One does not order up animals. If you... More

I cannot stress how wonderful this camp is, I knew from the reviews how great this place was but my expectations were still exceeded! Rooms We stayed in the one of the "tents", this has to be the best tent ever! The rooms are beautiful, big beds, lovely bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower, pretty decor and lovely views of... We had our wedding at Garonga in Jan 2014, and couldn't have wished for a more perfect setting. We took over the whole camp, for 15 of us. My hubbie and I stayed in Hambledon Suite, the most perfect room with it's own pool overlooking the bush. However all rooms were beautiful and private, including the tents. We did have... More

We stayed at the Garonga Safari camp for 5 nights in September 2013. Many things have already been said in the previous reviews but I would still like to share our experience. Our expectations were really high after reading these reviews. And they have been exceeded. What makes this place so special are the people who work there besides all... More

Thanks so much for your very positive feedback. It is a very careful balance between providing a service and being too much "In your face"; I'm so glad the balance was struck. We wish you all the best Bernie More

What a great place! We have been on safari in Kenya, but the landscape here was totally different, wooded savannah rather than open plain and probably more interesting for that fact. The camp has a wonderful atmosphere- since there are only 6 tents and thus a maximum of 12 people it was so much more friendly and intimate. Bernie who... More

Garonga sees more couples than families but hopefully this will change. It's a lovely place, with very comfortable luxury tents overlooking a riverbed that is often visited by elephants etc. The safari experience is just incredible - our guide/driver went beyond the call of duty in order to help us find all the animals we could ever have wanted, including... Thanks indeed for your feedback which is always so important. The Safari Teams do indeed try and pull out all the stops. Once the rains come a lot of the Game spreads over into Garonga. We have been very blessed with some incredible sightings on a regular basis now. It was great hosting you here. Best Regards Bernie More

Perfect stay for a perfect vacation. I can't say enough good things about this place. From the moment we were picked up from the airport, we were treated with such respect. The staff is amazing....anything you need, you get. The "tents" you stay in all have a view of the watering pond which many of the animals came to drink.... More

The camp is fantastic! We were in our honeymoon and it was an amazing experience! The tents are very neat, confortable and romantic. The staff is also very communicative and treated us very well. The private reserve is very wide and we could see 3 of the big5. We weren't able to see the buffalos and leopards. But overall it... More
