Okay, I know the title is a cliche', but it was just that. After arriving at Little Garonga camp, we were immediately made to feel so welcome by Robert the camp manager. We were given a welcoming cool drink then showed to our accomodation, The Hambledon Suite. This is a two bedroomed air conditioned villa with its own infinity pool... More

This place is incredible. The tents are outstanding, very spacious, well equipped and the fact that there are only 6 of them means they take amazing care of you. The pool, the main communal area and the shop are all excellent. The views over a watering hole were also a winner. The staff, are genuinely the most attentive that I... More

Garonga is a wonderful boutique safari resort with only a small number of luxury tented rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The game drives were amazing - CJ was great and explained us a lot about the wildlife and happily answered all our questions. We stayed at Garonga for 3 days and saw the Big Five and so... More

As part of our 2-week honeymoon in South Africa and Kenya, we wanted to do a safari experience in a Big Five area. This outfit was booked for us through the Explorations Company, a UK-based travel agency specializing in Africa. It did not disappoint! We could only stay 2 nights, but we got 4 game drives in during our stay,... More

Three of us stayed at Garonga for 3 nights in two 'tents'. Tents is not really accurate - they are luxury rooms with a canvas roof. It is a mesmerising place. We were waited on hand and foot by dedicated and enthusiastic staff. The food was really excellent and the service was absolutely exceptional. The views from the 'tents' the... More

Bernie has created the most perfect safari experience. Caring staff, amazing guides and trackers, terrific accomodation and wonderful dining. As first timers to safari this ticked all the boxes! We saw in the New Year with wonderful new friends from across the world and Lisa had gone all out with decorations and a superb meal. The viewing of animals from... More

We all know that there are a huge number of safari camps to visit in South Africa, all trying to outdo each other on luxury this and luxury that, unbeatable game etc, but this place hits EXACTLY the right note in terms of comfort while still managing to provide a true safari experience. Garonga was one of three camps my wife and I stayed at during a two week trip arranged by Simon Mills of Native Escapes who we have used before to visit Namibia and is excellent. We have been doing safaris for over 30 years and appreciated his knowledgable and friendly service. The final stop of our trip was Garonga in... More

I appreciate your response and glad you enjoyed your stay at Garonga. Thankfully we have had some rains recently and so looking green now. Yes, the road is a bit rough in some places and so always advisable, if self-driving to use an SUV; however the road is perfectly manageable. Regards Bernie More

Having never been on safari I can only say ‘why did I wait this long’! Myself and my husband travelled to Garonga in September which is a perfect month to be there. Thanks indeed for your very positive words. Am so glad you enjoyed both Camps as they are very different. As I've said in previous feedback the meals are truly thought out carefully and a lot of emphasis is put on them. There is everything you need here and so coming with loads of baggage is not necessary. As you say,... More
