Every safari lodge is similar, and yet different. Garonga is more different than the others! The tent/camp is very different, and has terrific views over a very vast expanse of territory. As another reviewer has stated, watch out for the monkeys. The sleepout is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that must not be missed. For a city-dweller, the singular feeling of being... More

Everything was great. The receipt, the staff, the lodge, the food, the tents, pure luxury and pampering. The game drives were exceptional. Elvis is an expert ranger!! Highly recommendable game lodge. We where sorry that we had to leave. One minor detail: you cannot walk on the premises on your own after sunset because of the animals. That makes you... More

Thanks so much indeed for your very positive feedback. The Microlite flight is indeed a fantastic experience. Sadly there are safety reasons for not walking on your own at night as you correctly point out. I will pass on your feedback to Elvis and Richard. Regards Bernie More

I was so excited to go to Garonga as had read raving reviews about the place on trip advisor but totally disappointed! The camp is stunning in itself and even the location is beautiful but the the lack of service really kills the enthusiasm of wanting to experience the real bush life at Garonga! We arrived to a lukewarm welcome... More

I'm very sorry Garonga did not live up to your expectations; the Monkeys are indeed a pest and many apologies for that. I met you during your stay and also wished you farewell and all appeared to be fine excepting of course the Monkey Incident. I have gone through the feedback forms you kindly wrote and all remarks for all... More

We spent 3 nights at the Garonga followed by 2 nights at a different lodge nearby. Have to say that Garonga is so much better. Firstly, all staff, rangers and the host came across v relaxed and natural. Secondly, quality of food and wine was top notch and that is for all the meals. Thirdly, every day there was a... More

We stayed at Garonga from February 5th 2015 for five nights. We loved the luxurious tented accommodation, just the right mix of boutique and bush! Staff were welcoming and did all they could to make our stay a memorable one, food was plentiful and delicious. We went on bush rides twice a day and loved every minute. We were fortunate... More

Lovely stay at Garonga, luxurious surroundings, plenty of animals, great food and great service, very glad we teamed it with the more authentic Kruger experience however, which was much less luxurious!

We stayed at Garonga for five nights from 11-16 January 2015. We had an amazing experience! In the middle of the bush you really do get up close and personal with the environment and the animals. Our guide and tracker Elvis and Richard were very experienced and skilled in finding the animals and showed a fantastic commitment to the guests,... More

We started our South Africa trip at Garonga Safari Camp in Hoedspruit. We received a warm welcome from the staff and were shown to our tent. The camp is literally in the middle of the resort, so you might spot a couple of animals while having breakfast or relaxing by the pool. There is however not too much time to... More

This was my first time on safari. The Garonga Safari Camp is about a 1 hour drive from Hoedspruit airport and well worth it as it is wonderfully remote. The reserve is huge - about 60000 acres and when arriving you take a dirt track to the camp. The camp is nicely set out - we were in a tent... More

My husband and I really loved Garonga. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, helped to our lovely room and right away we felt relaxed.
