Just left Long Lee Manor and cannot express the wonderful experience we had! From the minute we arrived it was first class service. The suite was large and lovely. The food was well thought out and beautifully presented. The service and employees were very pleasant and attentive to our needs. The safari were amazing. I almost cried when I spotted... More

We have just returned from a three week visit ( our first but not last !) to South Africa and we went to Shamwari and stayed at Eagles Crag as part of our tour. I cannot praise this place enough the service and quality of the accommodation was the best we have ever experienced. Our guide Jan was unbelievable, his... More

Had the most wonderful time in November 2014. Stayed at Long Lee Manor for 3 nights and cannot fault it. The room, service and people were wonderful. Afraid I didn't do the food justice as so much and couldn't eat it all. As for the game drives I cannot really put them into words. Abel our Ranger was excellent and... More

From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left we loved every second. We stayed two nights at the Baythe lodges, and would highly recommend it. Our luxury suite was great with a huge bed/bathroom and plunge pool on a private decking area. We arrived for lunch and enjoyed the fantastic views and watching the waterhole, where we immediately... An afterthought on a previous entry about our stay at Shamwari (Long Lee Manor and Bayethe) this past November – How to Tip: Not sure how much to tip your safari guide? Not familiar with the South African Currency? Unfortunately unlike to other lodges Shamwari does not provide a clear guide for tipping. Of course it is one of those... More

My wife and I stayed in Long Lee Manor, where our room [s] were enormous, very comfortable, and very clean, and from the veranda we could see miles and miles of the African veld. An amazing experience to watch giraffes, elephants, antelope, warthogs etc. strolling by. The staff are amazing and cannot do enough for you [especially Michael, who seems... More

We stayed at the Explorer Camp (tents) in November and we enjoyed it so much. If one decide to stay at the tented camp and not in one of the luxurios lodges it should be very clear that nature is close and always arround. At night time we could hear the lions pretty close arround the camp and the game... More

We spent four nights in Bayethe Lodge, which was just fantastic. Our party were interested not only in the animals, but also the birds, and our Ranger (Jacques) was just brilliant. We saw all the various animals we were hoping for, and over 100 species of birds. It was just the most fabulous experience. The food and wine were great... More

We stayed at Shamwari for 2 nights recently, in Riverdene Lodge. It was a truly fantastic experience. The lodge itself was furnished in a modern, simple but very comfortable style, with a good sized room, decent sized bathroom and large walk in shower. I believe that Riverdene is marketed as being more suitable for families, but the majority of the... More

Just stayed at Bayethe for two nights. Was the most spiritual experience of my life. To see not only the big five but all the animals in their natural environment was amazing. You could see it in the eyes of these animals that they were truly at peace. Shamwari is truly a special place that everyone should take the time... More
