We stayed at Eagles Crag which was fantastic but surpassed by the truly amazing games drives. Our room (no.8) was always clean and well presented and there were lots of little personal touches like the daily African animal stories left on the pillow. The whole operation is slick and well planned, there is no waiting around for things to happen.... More

We stayed at Long Lee Manor for three nights in early May. Our room was spacious, clean and had an absolutely amazing view. The food was plentiful and delicious, with the BBQ being a highlight. The rangers went out of their way to ensure that we saw every animal that we possibly could. They get the trucks exceptionally close to... More

We visited Shamwari in August lady year and unless anyone else that stayed for 2 or 3 nights we stayed for 8. We took our 5 year old son and were made to feel instantly at home. The surroundings are safe, beautifully decorated And a good sized bedroom. The staff can't do enough for you and are always happy to... More

A long drive off the main road (we got lost on the way out) brings one to the height of luxury at Eagles' Crag. We were in Room 4, with its own plunge pool and very spacious (we assume all the rooms are similar). The staff were excellent and the food very good. We were escorted to our room by... More

We stayed at Eagles Cragg for 4 days celebrating our honeymoon. Firstly, I am not sure if the review from vita713 is the same place as we stayed as I cannot understand how they found it so poor. We arrived after a long flight from the UK greeted by the lovely Nina. Dropping the bags off in our room (which... More

Recently had the pleasure of visiting to celebrate my partner's 'special birthday' and we certainly had the most wonderful stay. Made even better by our wonderful guide Frans, outstanding in his knowledge and skills in sharing with us the wonderful sights that Shamwari has to offer. So many memories, photos and videos to show all our family and friends we... More

As retired South Africans, we have spent our lives enjoying the bush and have become quite knowledgeable over many years. Therefore, when booking in to Eagles Crag at Shamwari Game Reserve, we specifically asked for a well-trained guide, particularly in birding and flora. We were assured that such a guide would be on hand for us. It was on this... More

We had 4 very pleasurable nights at Sarili - it is contemporary and comfortable with a pleasant earthy feel. Log fires - delicious food - huge breakfasts - extremely pleasant staff. Hot chocolate when you return from game drives and help yourself real freshly ground coffee (the most important thing!) Every second night was a BBQ with amazing tastes and... More

We stayed at the Riverdene Lodge for 2 nights last week as part of our family summer break. It was a fabulous stay - the guides, the service, the staff, the facilities - everything was superb. The Riverdene lodge is perfect for kids. Shamwari itself is an ideal game reserve for kids. Along with game drives, the kids got to... More

We stayed at Shamwari for 3 nights at the Eagles Crag Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We drove to the lodge but wouldn't recommend driving in a standard car as the road does not have tarmac and as quite a few potholes! As it should for being a nature reserve but it's definitely something to keep in mind if... More
