5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed at Long Lee in February for which I have already completed a review of the wonderful experiences we had there However on our day of leaving my wife inadvertently left her jewellery bag in the dresser drawer. It was not for a couple of days we realised and made contact with Shamwari. They instantly located us on our... More

This was the best part of our three week trip to South Africa. Shamwari came highly recommended to us and we were not disappointed.Apart from the fantastic stay at Eagles Crag our ranger Bethuel was exceptional. His knowledge and experience were all part of the success of the three days. The staff at EC were lovely and we loved the personal service.... Son and partner (they were married whilst we were there - a complete surprise) their children aged 10 and 4 and myself - the Granny -. stayed at the Riverdene Lodge. Everything was perfect. They really look after children here and our Ranger Ntobeko was so good with all of us - and knew so much - a splendid guide.... More

Spent 2 nights with family at the end of February and stayed at Sirili Lodge. Views from the deck were magnificent with plenty of sightings of Elephants, Kudu etc. The room was ok but more attention to cleanliness needed, the showers in all our rooms were sticky! The noisy air conditioning needs looking at as on a very hot night... More

Thank you to Ranger Jacques, we had a fabulous time, 3 days with fabulous games, ever under the rain ....he is realy great, full of enthusiasm, and also very funny with a good sense of humour, the bungalows are comfortable, not luxurious, the food is not very good, and much too 'fussy' for such a place, Lovely location for the... We had two luxury rooms for three nights at the Long Lee Manor on Shamwari Game Reserve. The rooms were very spacious and clean with fantastic view of the reserve from our bedrooms. All the meals were included and the food was very good. We especially liked the BBQ nights as it's held outdoors with a big fire place in... More

I liked this place. The service was very good indeed. The food was first class, the drives were well organised and the young guide/driver (Asher) was a keen enthusiastic and surprisingly knowledgable young chap who is well suited to the job. The one and only niggle was the lady who first met us told us we had 30 minutes to get ready for... More

We stayed at Eagles Crag for 4 nights at the end of our holiday in South Africa. We had stayed at some wonderful places prior to arriving here and doubted that this place could be any better, how wrong we were. From the arrival drink and hot towel to the farewell we we were made to feel very special. We... More

An incredible experience from the beginning, when we were met at reception with a smile and something refreshing to drink, to when we said goodbye to our Game Ranger Jessica and were given some water and a snack for the road. We stayed at Long Lee Manor. The room was beautuful, with a balcony which had a wonderful view of... More

Having spent the first 26 years of my life in Central Africa, I must admit that I was skeptical of visiting a private Game Reserve. Many of these "game farms" are a relatively new phenomenon, having risen as a result of the tourist boom that has taken place over the last 25 years and since the end of apartheid. Many... More

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you very much for our great review on Shamwari Game Reserve. We are very proud of the conservation and hospitality achievements since opening up in 1990.
