Our ranger was Betheul and he really made our stay extra special. The Eagles Crag was luxurious, meals were fine dining and every member of staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome. From the Gin and tonic and nibbles on an evening safari, to the hot cloths and warm drinking chocolate on your return, your every... More

We visited Shamwari last year and stayed at Bayethe which was great but Eagles Crag was even better. Our ranger was Jan who did an excellent job. There were six of us in the van for each game drive and thanks to Jan's skills we saw all of the big five. Jan followed the tracks till we saw them ALL,... More

Are you planning your holidays in SA? Dreaming about safari? Already schedule your trip to Kruger? No! There is a much better choice! We just experienced two safari adventures: in Kruger and in Shamwari (Bayethe Lodge) and definitely vote for Shamwari. It is unforgettable and is no comparison to Kruger. What was so special about Shamwari? For us three things... More

We stayed in Longlee manor during August 2014, and it is two days which we will never forget. From the moment we arrived when the staff were standing their with homemade lemonade and warm face towels to all the meals and of course the game drives everything was spectacular. During our two nights we had 4 game drives and saw... More

I can genuinely say I have never experienced anything like it in my entire life. Hopefully one day I will return and experience Long Lee Manor. Everything about the resort is first class. Concierge and front of house manager greeted us as we pulled up in the car. Seemless transition from car to rooms. Bags transported without hassle. Two wonderful inter-connecting rooms. Spacious and very comfortable. Ranger was waiting to take us on our first game drive. JJ was an excellent ranger and very knowledgeable. Became a little blasé at being so close... More

.......S.I.R. stands for "Super Indian Ranger".....as Minolan, our Senior Ranger at Shamwari Eagles Crag told us on our initial meeting, prior to our first game drive. But that's getting ahead of this review. We arrived at Eagles Crag, and immediately were made to feel welcome, cared for and valued as Guests of this intimate, up-scale and VERY private Safari Lodge,... More

Had the fortune to stay two nights in room number 2 with a stunning vista. The service and food was really good and the wine list was fair. Abel our ranger was a standout as knowledge and passion combined make for a very memorable wild life experience!
