We (my wife, children aged 7 and 9 and myself) stayed for 4 days and were spell bound. Facilities were well set out, camp was really well run, food was good, service was excellent, staff really friendly and the game drives... were out of this world. Saw loads of game on every drive including the big 5 on more than... More

An excellent bush camp and Safari experience. Good food, great atmosphere, committed staff and great wildlife. Not too big so you got to meet everyone and share your experiences. One tip - the road to the camp is gravel and needs a car with good ground clearance. If there has been rain you may even need a 4X4 to get... More

We were exceptionally lucky in our three nights at Umlani. With 9 on the truck our capable and knowledgeable ranger Sinhla and tracker Ifram managed to find lions, cheetah, 3 different leopards, elephants, rhino, hyena, a pack of painted wild dogs, and a range of other game. We witnessed a coalition of male leopards make a kill, a raw and... More

I have always dreamt of spending time in a bush camp and this exceeded all expectations. From the word go we were absorbed into the experience, with the awesome accommodation, great food and drink, and a feeling of anticipation of the wildlife viewing to come. We saw 4 of the big 5 which is pretty good viewing - we also... More

This was our first safari bush camp and the whole experience was unforgettable! Apart from the excellent guides and abundance of wildlife, the bush camp was very rustic but perfect! We absolutely loved the cabins lit by candlelight, the great atmosphere at meal times, the charm of all members of staff. But without a doubt, the highlight was spending one... More

Great safari experience. Met all our expectations. Game drives were superb, made especially enjoyable by Elvis, our game driver, who was knowledgeable, witty and determined to find all animals. Saw nearly every possible animal the first evening (a stroke of luck), but continued to enjoy the remaining five drives as we saw animals in different environments and circumstances. Food was... Our stay with Marco and the team at Umlani was just what we had hoped for: submerged deeply into the bush, no unrequired pampering and unneeded comforts, yet with an attending and pleasant host and a superb team to cater for our every need. The rondovals are great and the beds very comfortable. Goodness, the chef, made wonders for us... More

Looking for more of a rustic Safari experience with a personal and intimate flavor? Look no further than Umlani with its wonderful service, lamp lit huts and glorious location. I've been here twice and plan a third visit in the near future (from the US and UK). On both visits we were lucky enough to witness scores of Elephants move... More

We recently spent 2 nights at the camp and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The huts are amazing, the team cannot do enough for you and we had the best (and comfiest) game drives of all the places we stayed. Our guides Shadey and 'milkandsugar' (sorry Robert) were really enthusiastic and managed to find us some amazing animals and some... More

I recently spent 5 glorious days at lovely Umlani (my second visit in a year) with 8 friends to celebrate my birthday (as I did last year). It was the best birthday ever. I was given a surprise birthday celebration at sunset on our last evening game drive. We arrived at our sundowner spot to find a banquet set up... More
